SCCA Runoffs

Just about to head for the airport and go back to Topeka ... Hopefully those T3 RX-8s can get up to speed and take it again.

Look for Rob Huffmaster!! Starting 2nd on grid 1st RX-8.
Good guy and a fast smooth driver. He and his dad are top notch.

The only race I care about is GT2, where my old friend Tom Patton is looking to get another championship...in his SUNBEAM TIGER

Tirminyl and myself will be there bright and early to watch the T3 race on Saturday.

We met TeamRX8 at the runoffs. Very nice guy with a beautiful car!

Out of curiousity, what do you think of the new course layout at Heartland Park? I ran a few laps on the old layout but haven't been out there to try the new one yet.

Let us know if the TV cameras are there. I checked the Speed web site and there isn't a listing for the Runoffs into November.
The last time I attended the Runoffs (as a Corner Worker) was when they were at Road Atlanta.

Doesn't SPEED run the races on a delayed basis...at, like 2:00AM after their daily NASCAR and "reality TV" quotient is satisfied?

They used to do a Christmas marathon of rebroadcasts, but I don't think they do that anymore, either...maybe Thanksgiving?

The Runoffs will be on Speed. The times are not convenient. Tues. Nov 7th (early AM eastern) & Tues. 14th (afternoon eastern). Check the listings for the times and set your DVRs.

Well the Cobalt has made a joke of the class, they are well out in front, and if any one gets close they just drop a bunch more. The speed on the strait out of those cars is crazy. The big surprise to me is how slow the S2000 is. On paper it show kill the RX-8, but Huffmaster and Gilhart are hanging in there. Just have to hope the Cobalts burn off their front tires and the RX-8s are there at the end.

I will try to post some pics later.

Went to the Mazda party tonight. I won a rotary watch in their raffle.

The Solstice GXP is doing the same in T2. Going to be a lot of weekend warriors picking up Soltices in the coming months.

GM may do the SS/T clean sweep.... T1, T2, T3, SSB and SSC.

Ed Zabinsky, T2 Lotus Elise, bought a GXP from Phoenix today that was not done. They built it at the track, got a tech sticker just hours before the last qual, then went out and put it in P2 for the race. This was his first time every in the Solstice, think that car is fast and easy to drive.

We just got a copy of a book GM will be selling, at the dealer, that tells you step by step how to build an SSB or T2 Solstice. Every part you need and even the setup they have on the factory (Phoenix) cars. All you need is the car.

I will take the contingency money I get from Mazda, and parts support, over a book any day. There is no money or parts program with GM for Solo.

True. GM provided Nats support this year for the very first time. They were doing corner weighing, alignments, and tire services for all GM owners. Judging by the turnout (our garage was next to theirs) I'd expect to see them back next year.

Looks like weather delay... Lightning in the area. We are taking lunch for the workers and plan to restart at 11:30am. Races may be ran on time depending on how things go. Will make for a long day, but I think it is better for the drivers and workers.
