Shaving Dunlop Star Specs

After running on slow Azenis last year, I am now on Dunlop Star Specs, and they are world's faster. I started at full tread and ran 2 events with them last season. Halfway through the first event this season, they came to life, and I finished 5th overall, where last year I would always come up short of the top 10. At the next event, I got FTD, and have placed in the top 5 again since then.
So, rather than starting from full tread again, I'm thinking about getting my next set shaved. Is there a specific amount that works best, for example, get 2/32, 4/32, etc, shaved off?
I have a really important event coming up this season that I will be travelling to in order to try for another FTD. My guess would be that a brand new set of shaved tires would be faster than tires that have 14 or 15 events on them, right?

Tires are shaved to get rid if tread squirm. Road racers also shave to reduce the amount of heat buildup and tire chunking. This is usually to 3/32nds. Most dealers won't shave used tires, because they may have debris locked in the tread that can hurt the operator or damage the machine.
