Any further context on why James sold the car in the first place?
I'm telling you guys: just wait for them to put the clutch-type diff in the car (James didn't want to do so for some reason) and it's all over. Although I imagine the car would be moved to AS shortly thereafter.

the RX-8 was going through it's development, time and time again we've seen a car that didn't do as well to start as it did a year or two later on; 93 RX7TT, S2000 etc., the RX-8 is no different
not that the 968 shouldn't be sent to AS anyways do to its age and very limited availability, and shortly = end of the year since the SEB chose not to consider the full implications when put before them two years ago, meanwhile the BMW E30 M3 stays planted in BS using the same logic not being considered for the 968, what a joke

I have not touched the car, as far as setup changes, since Aug 2005. For anyone that thinks I have revalved shocks I would be happy to extend this offer: Send me one brand new set of Konis in the box and I will send you my "custom" shocks.
I do think our car has gotten faster over time, but for no other reason than the driver figured out how to live without TQ.

lol, may the farce be with you
just j/k ing , but I seem to recall the same commentary made about the RX-8, still waiting to see all those great theories put to work ... he still claims the RX-8 won't go through a turn without rear toe-out
as far as the Solstice goes, there's probably a pretty good argument to be made that it's underclassed and should be in BS rather than CS, better yet maybe it should go to AS under best of breed with it's turbo brethren just like the Z4 2.5 being stuck in there with the 3.0

OK so it turns out I had some bad info. Scott McWho is not a co-owner on the ex-HUI 968. Carl does have a co-owner on the car it is Pierre Mauier, local STU ex-M3 driver, they both ran it this weekend in San Diego. Carl also got to meet Ron so he should have been able to get some setup info from him to compare with what James has done.
Who is going to drive it at the tour and maybe the pro is still up in the air. Sounds like the new owners want to see some fast guys run it so they can see if they wasted their money or not.

Is the 968 a pretty user friendly car, Steve? I wonder if McWho will adapt quickly, after driving the C4 for so long. Of course, he's an awesome driver, so it probably doesn't really matter what he's driving. JGW, on the other hand, should be right at home in the Porch.

Then again, McHugh's a vastly better driver than I am, so maybe he'll adapt quickly. Ron sure did.

looks like my other hired gun, GH, had to bail from SD ...
IMO the reason it rolls so much is because everyone lowers them excessively and gets the roll center working too much against the OE spring rate, a bigger front bar with some suspension tuning to back it up would IMHTO resolve several issues ... not that I'd want an AS car winning in BS
