Some nice driving.

Last year we had a car club full of Caterhams come through the mountains around Cloudcroft and Ruidoso, New Mexico. They are so lightweight and agile, but I had never seen one in action like this guy is pushing it though....that was some impressive driving for sure!
Thanks for sharing the find!

I got to do an EVO magazine trackday in 2002 at Brands Hatch. One of the cars I got to ride in was a Caterham Superlight R500 (for a while, fastest production car on Nurburgring), and it forever cemented my deep adoration for small, light cars and Caterham in particular. It was ridiculous how fast that little thing was, but you really only knew that by how fast full-race Lotus's and Porsches moved out of your way. It has so little mass and body roll that you didn't feel much inertia change and therefore didn't feel subjectively quick. Everytime I looked at the speedo, though, it was easily 20-30mph faster than I though possible. Also, as I said, EVERYTHING but the Radicals on track would automatically move aside when they saw us in their mirrors. This includes a TVR Tuscan R, Exiges, a Ferrari 355 Challenge, etc etc etc. Of course it was made even better by the fact that the driver was a pro British Touring car driver and made it seem so ridiculously easy.
I always though a Rotary would be the perfect engine for these cars, never understood why I don't see more like that...
Oh, and they are street legal, and available in the US. New model (CSR) comes with the 2.3 Duratec tuned to 260 BHP. In an 1100 pound car...
