springs v.s coilovers
well as some of you may know...i autocross my car and take my car to track occasionally
well i am stuck between the decision between springs (150) or just get coilovers (800)
i know that it will take me out of b stock either way...but i do want a lower car because i also go to alot of car shows....
my question is should i just get springs for the look or get coilovers for looks and performance...and also what class would i be in after installing the springs/coilovers

If you really were a points competitor you would'nt even be asking this question. A real racer would make it a point to stick it out in B-Stock (upgrade your structs)or upgrade to a coilover much more expensive, tunable and competitive.
I agree with ULLLOSE that cheap coilovers will most likely be more for show that performance.
For occassional tracking/autox and car shows, maybe a lower spring will keep you happy. Racing for you, like me, is probably just for fast fun and thrills so who really cares what class you run in.
BTW Where are my H-Techs? I sent you money, so send me my tracking info? LOL

The component which needs upgrading the most is the OEM damper. A set of springs with Koni or D-Spec dampers will yield very good increase in performance. As mentioned above, either go the spring/damper route, or save up for a good coilover set. I wouldn't waste money on springs alone to be used with the OEM damper.

Tein Basics, on the other hand, are overpriced, and only slightly better than stock. You'd have to get one of the higher end Teins to start hitting performance numbers that the OTS Konis aleady produce.

(I used to run Tein RAs on the WRX.... they were good, but couldn't get them re-valved here in the US like you can with the Konis.)
