Srt-4?

Good point. The 8 offers so much more as it should for the extra $10,000. The handling, looks ,interior and overall build quality are what swayed me. I needed the 4 doors and the SRT4 has them as well but not to many other perfromance cars offered them. I like the SRT4 for what it is a no thrills performance car for a great price and I will always respect that. I also like what Mopar is doing with the Stage 1,2 and 3. Something I wish Mazda would do for the 8!

I know the questions of "can this car beat that car?" can get annoying but drag racing has been becoming very popular and people want cars that come stock, fast and easily upgraded for maximum HP. its always interesting to hear different kill stories and see the potentials of what cars can do. its tough to say what the potential is for the RX-8 because it is so new, but i have heard of superchargers and TT packages in the process for the RX-8 which will bring out the drag racing side of the RX-8.

I don't know how some people didn't get torque steer. Thie first and only time I've test driven an SRT-4 it was the 2004 model with lsd. I started slowly in first gear, shifted to second and floored it, when the boost hit me it pulled the car to the right so hard that I almost go off the road! It was awful, I was scared as hell, what would I tell the salesman if I lost control of the car and crashed? I returned the car to the dealer driving granny style.

This car keeps impressing me more and more. It's really no slouch in the handling department, and is a little rocketship on a rally stage when prepped right. The engine also seems to be about as tough or tougher than anything out there. Props to Dodge for making such a car, booo on them for not designing a body around it and just making it look like a hoped up neon. There's just some little things that would ever keep me from buying one, FWD being the major reason. Give it a few years and I think we'll see the SRT-4 whooping up on the fast DSMs around the country at the strips, as well as dominating it's class in the US pro rally.
