Wow, that kicks loads of cars out of class then. Way to keep people interested in the sport.

I feel like there is no point in racing, I don't want to spend $10K to be competitive in SM and am not about to spent $4k making my body stock to compete in STX.

That sucks, I would have never thought an "appearance" kit would make any performance difference. are there any (ford SVT?) that make any actual difference?

I would never even consider protesting a factory supported (like svt and mazdaspeed) body kit.

yeah, go figure that one out

and the factory appearance package option parts are legal. The Mazdaspeed parts are more than just "appearance". I don't think it's going to affect "loads of cars" There weren't than many National level cars with these kinds of parts that I can recall, just a few outliers that I know of.

Yes, some of the non-CR S2ks installed the CR wing, but there's no reason that it can't be removed. Pretty easy to do actually

Mike, a number of people on this forum are looking for a BB MS bumper. You should have no problem working out a trade + cash for their OE bumper. I bumped a WTB thread for a guy in Alabama and mentioned your username.

No way would I sell my MS bumper. I'd get the OEM and swap it out before National events, then swap back.

If I leave the sides on will you protest? All they do is add weight

Reason is there are holes drilled into the rocker panel, and the passenger side has 2 big dents in it from my car getting side swiped years back, which the skirts are covering up...

I have a dent in my rocker panel and some holes in mine too. Not much you can do with the dent. For the holes I just had Solotime make me some circles using their HD removeable vinyl material in the closest matching color. It works well enough, but I personally could care less about whether you have side skirts or not.

Or you could just fix the dent etc. properly. It's not like such an idea is beyond your means or anything

Seeing as I was quoted $900 to fix the dent I'll leave it there. Still trying to decide what to do for next season...

Are Mazdaspeed parts classed as a factory option???
Some things I would think yes like a front bumper or wheels (I have Mazdaspeed Rays they 18x8 but have 40mm offset so are they illegal)
Some things would definitely be a no such as coilovers, sway bars, strut braces etc.

Anything that is allowed in Stock is allowed in ST, not sure why you ever would have thought otherwise.

Guess my age is showing, seems like only yesterday that it was $40. I remember people screaming bloody murder when they raised the Nationals entry fee to $85.
