Track Day preparation

Just bought a new rx8, a buddy and I will be sharing it for a track day/Driver's Ed event at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut at the end of March. The car is completely stock...and I want to track it like this first before any mods.

My question is, what should I have done prior to this track event? The only thing I'm really concerned about is brake fade. It will be on the track for eight 20 min sessions over the course of 8 hours or so. Should I use better brake fluid, pads, even brake lines??

Thanks in advance!

Steve

This thread should answer most of your questions. The RX-8 has GREAT brakes and Lime Rock is not a big track they will be fine. They were for me on much larger Watkins Glen track and the faster Pocono Long Course. By the way is this the PDA event on the 24th?

Sounds like you may be there on the 28th with SCDA?
If the car is running in two run groups it'll be lucky if they are not back to back to give the brakes time to cool down.
I ran stock brakes on my MINI at LRP once and they were fine. It's not a particularly hard track on brakes. The biggest brake area is the end of the front straight just before Big Bend, the rest are minor.
If it is the SCDA group let's chat at the track. I'll be in the MINI, not 8.

Most importantly finish breaking the car in properly.
