Track tires ... recommendations

Track tires ... recommendations
I'd like to get you guys opinions on the following tires. These would only be used for track days and TT events. Also, I'm not planning on using R compounds because I think there is still more left for me to learn before moving up to R compounds. Main reason for this is at a track event this past weekend I turned my daily driven SPTs to mush. The car just became really greasy and hard to handle. Anyways, let me know your thoughts on these 4 tires.
Yokohama Advan Neovas
Falken Azenis RT-615's
Bridgestone RE01R
Kuhmo Mx
These would strictly be for these track events so I'm not too concerned about noise.

Advans, do you mean the A048? If you are going with that, you might as well go with the RA1s. I used the Rt-615s and MX for three years, good tires, but they dont really take abuse well compare to the race tires. You will average almost hte same speed than the OEM tires, but at half the price. They are just noisy tires. I was gaining almost full 3 sec per lap on a 1.5 mile course with just USED RA-1s.
Most street tires you are not going to get more than 3-5 laps without getting it slipping anyway. Get used to it. I always do a few fast laps. When I hit traffic, I cool the brakes and tires. Once it clears up, it's time to go again.

The yokos would be the AD07. I just don't really feel like I'm to the point of getting R compound tires. Sure I can turn my SPTs to mush but I think I could still get some more out of me as a driver before turning to the Race compound tires.

you can turn any unshaved street tire to mush on a track, some of these tires cost more than Toyo RA1s and will have about the same overall life when it's said and done
Kumho MX is the worst performer of the list, but least cost
Advan Neova AD07 is tops with the Re01R is just a nip behind, premium pricing for these but the Re01R is slightly less
the RT-615 is between those two extremes, intermediate cost but more likely to overheat than the AD07/Re01R
my shaved 265/35-18 ADO7s run over $300 each from Tirerack

I am curious what it is that you are wanting to learn with non-RCompound tyres that cant be learnt with them?
I ran the RT-615 on the track. In general were a good tyre but (aside from what TeamRX* mention on their heat issues) when they let go, they just gave up and you ended up doing piruettes. In my opinion the OEM Potenza's were a better tyre.
In the end the Toyo R888 is an RCompound tyre and was only a few dollars (Read Monopoly money over here) more than the Falkens. So I went with them instead of replacing my RT's.
From reviews I have read the Toyo RA1s are worth looking at as well.
Cheers

The RA1's are not a great race tire, but they are durable and because they are mandated for certain racing programs, you can obtain them very cheap used. If you are just running for fun, I think that they would make a good choice.
You will be better off in the long run to buy a second and even third set of wheels and put R tires on them keeping your street tires and wheels for the street.
All of this is of course mho.

Last year, I used the Falken Azenis RT-615s in 245/40/R18 size.
I was very happy with the way they performed on the track and street. They were also very cheap, only about $155 each. I recommend vulcantire.com. Great service and fast delivery as well.
The tires lasted quite a long time. I made it through 13 track days, 2 time attacks, 1 autocross and about 12000 miles of driving. They are currrently just at the wear markers so I can probably get 1 more track day out of them.
I did find them to be fairly skiddish in the rain while on the track. They do not have a center channel to funnel the rain away from the tire. It may be personal preference/skill level though as I have a friend that is a much better driver who used to rave about the Azenis in the rain on his M3.

I just bought a set at Agundis on SoSF. $764.00 for 4 installed. Good traction in the rain but as many say on the internet they feel "soft" compared to the Bridgestone and other tires. Decent all-season tire (so according to translation not really a competition tire). But I only drive in the streets.
