Track video

Ran a 2:11.2 this weekend at VIR. Unofficially though as SCCA was using the back straight S/F line and I caught the Camaro at the end of this video as he sputtered out of fuel on what was on pace to be a 2:10.9 officially... Ugh.
Had a bit of an off in South Bend too! Whoops... No real damage, some scrapes on the S2 factory metal undertray thing and it tore the exhaust wrapping off of my catback.
Also, got to meet @hufflepuff at the track! Well, see him again? Met him a LONG time ago in 2017 (IIRC) and he didn't know it but he got me hunting for an RX-8 lol

The class I'm in is fairly basic, "Tuner" Camber mods, up to 265 wide 200TW tires on any size wheel, basic suspension mods like coilovers, basic power mods, etc. https://timetrials.scca.com/pages/tuner-category
hufflepuff is in a higher class that allows more stuff like aero and weight mods, that class uses multipliers and **** and it's confusing, lol. https://timetrials.scca.com/pages/max-category

yeah. i run a midpipe and bolted a piece of plywood to the front end and to the trunk, and now i'm MAX, yo!
I've never been a fan of SCCA classing, and that's still true for TT. i think there's too many classes and overlap in performance potential between many of them and the rules are overly restrictive in certain regards.
i think things like their SSC autocross class for the FRS/BRZ are a huge win. But unless we all want to go spec racing (and i'd be in favor of a limited-prep spec RX8 class!), there will always be something to gripe about. i really just went to have fun and shake down the home depot aero. and burn off my RE71Rs with 2018 date codes.

Yeah, there's both too many classes and not enough, haha.
How'd the aero feel on track? I'd bet it probably makes a huge positive difference for hill climbs

the aero was extremely confidence inspiring and transformed the car from loose to neutral at low speed to stable at high speed. Big grip anywhere 60mph+ which is a good portion of the track
