The vid 350Z guys are trying to cover up
this is hilarious (I can say that now because he lived):
How not to Autocross
What is this guy thinking?????????????///////////////////
maybe someone forgot to tell him this was an AutoX competition and not Hot Import Nights, yo!!
p.s. although it seems as if the course design is suspect too, cant' really tell how far off-course he went though.

This was not an autox, and not an SCCA sanctioned event. It was a drifting event put on at Qualcomm stadium this Sunday.
Already mentioned in the San Diego National Tour thread below yours.

hahha...I saw ULLOSE's post right after I posted this!
good to know that the SCCA isn't gonna lose any event time over this incident. maybe that guy was a frustrated ex-B Stock solo-er, decided to try something else since he couldnt' beat the rx8!

It is ture that we dont directly see the effect of this, but these @ss clowns are the ones that make it hard to keep lots like that and drive the cost up.

Most beginners don't know to walk away, they'll just assume its safe because its been planned out.

Wow! So, to initiate a drift, the first thing he did was accelerate to a speed at which he would need a gear that lowered his effective torque?
What was he doing? Drag racing?
Even with the right setup, he was moving too fast.
I love to see things like that. Too bad there wasn't an embankment on the other side of that curb down which he could have fallen and burst into flames.
Oops. Wrong thread.
