Walnut Ridge NT
We have a nice field registered for the NT but the Pro numbers suck.
Don't you guys wanna spend another weekend at the airport in beautiful WR?
I'm curious to see how many spectators they get this year. It was over 3k
last year.
And Altiain, I'm even slower this year than last!

If Bryan wasn't heading to Walnut Ridge for the Tour, I wouldn't be going to Arkansas at all.
The Pro has limited interest due to location and people going closer to home to qualify for the Finale. DC Pro will be my only Pro because I'm already qualified.
I think Bryan and I have hit on a much better setup for '07. I certainly didn't adjust well to it at in Cecil GA, but have a much better feel for it now. Nationals will be much more fun this year than last. - AB

We need to work on your smack talk, Eric.
I've got no interest in the Pro at all. Jeremy and I will be at the Dallas Pro, but only 'cause it's in our backyard. We'll be in Houston for the Tour, though.
I'm looking forward to the Tour. The west coasters have had all the fun so far this season! This will be the first National event in kc's old car, and now that I've got it sorted out to my driving style I'm looking forward to some real competition.

Pretty much.
I will say this about the car - after getting it on an alignment rack, I'm even more impressed with kc's driving skills, because he was driving it at Nationals on one messed up alignment. Maybe that's why he kept hitting cones.

I think this is what he was talking about:

Arkansas ProSolo Joins Tour Event Weekend, Texas ProSolo Cancelled
SCCA Staff Writers
TOPEKA, Kan. (April 20, 2007) -- Despite the strong interest and high entry levels at Tire Rack® SCCA National Solo events in virtually every part of the country, the central United States remains a challenge for schedule expansion. Low pre-event entries at the Arkansas and Texas ProSolos have prompted SCCA to reschedule one event and cancel the other altogether.
The Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo scheduled for Walnut Ridge, Ark. on May 5-6, which was to be the inaugural event using the new single course format, is being merged with the April 29-30 Walnut Ridge National Tour. This Tour will have all the heats merged into one day, with drivers taking their traditional six runs over two courses on Saturday. Drivers then will have the opportunity on Sunday to try the new single course format ProSolo event. Although drivers will be able to enter both events for the cost of only the Tour, there will be two separate events with all the respective trophies and contingency awards.
The May 26-27 Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo scheduled for Mineral Wells, Texas has been cancelled. Because of this, the Memorial Day weekend is being considered for a National Tour event in another part of the country. Those already entered in the Texas ProSolo may request a refund or have their entry transferred to another National Solo event.
“The improved event efficiencies that our National Solo Field Staff have been able to implement allows us the ability to do this unique two-for-one weekend that will give exceptional value to the SCCA entrants,” SCCA VP of Rally and Solo Howard Duncan said. “The 2007 Tire Rack SCCA National Solo season, particularly the ProSolo program, was designed to be a year of testing new ideas and this is definitely a new concept in events that the entrants should find highly entertaining and rewarding.”
The entrants of all three events (Walnut Ridge Tour, Walnut Ridge ProSolo, Mineral Wells ProSolo) will be sent an e-mail describing the administrative details of this schedule change.

Ouch.
I'm surprised that 1) there's no posting on scca's discussion forum by Cindy yet, and 2) the chatter on sccaforums hasn't started yet.
Sounds like the back-to-back NT and PS would be an exciting way to run these events, no dull moments, but I feel for the people who planned otherwise.

I think the guys in AR get a killer deal, two events for one entry fee and full contingency awards without having to pay for extra days in a hotel and travel.
TX gets a bad deal but it is not like that pro has ever had a good turn out. I was surprised to even see it on the schedule after last year.

Okay, that's f***ed up. Two events for the price of one ain't such a bad deal, but I have no interest in trying to compress a Tour AND a Pro into one weekend. I signed up for a two-day National Tour, not a one-day Tour and some half-assed single course format ProSolo tacked onto the end of it.
Maybe it's just time for ProSolo to die an ungraceful death and be done with it? I can honestly say that once you get past the novelty of the drag start and the Christmas tree, there really isn't anything in the ProSolo format that appeals to me. I had intended to do the Dallas Pro, but only because it's local. I will probably stick around for the WR Pro, but only because I'll already be there and I have the hotel room booked. Maybe I'll just come home after the "abbreviated" Tour and be done with it - after all, our current timing equipment makes it difficult to get a Pro done in TWO days - how the hell do they think they'll manage to do it all in one day, especially with a single course (less people on course at any time) format?
Does anyone else think this is just a really, really bad idea, or am I the only one?

I think it would've been good to have already tested the single course format somewhere, outside the context of a national event, in order to work out some bugs in the process. I thought I heard that was going to happen, anyone know if it did?
I also think the back to back events is a cool way to expose some additional people to PS, given the captive audience who may stick around for Sunday. And if it were me already planning to go there -- hey, another full day of autox beats most other things I could be doing!
But as far as travel plans, scheduled time off from work, and the personal logistics - that part sucks.

supposedly there was a practice single Pro event on Thur before the GA Tour, funny that nothing much was ever said afterward, I took that as a not so good sign ...
my request above to run BS was wishful thinking, I don't have the time or the energy, but now wouldn't care to attend either
