Wheel/tire combo for CS/STX and possibly a few track days
#26
STOCK - Kosei K4Rs with 225 RS3 V2s or Direzza V2s. Light and cheap. The Rivals encourage idiotic slip angles and reward shitty driving.
For STX, 720 Forms are lightweight and dirt cheap wheels. Pair them with some RS3 V2s.
On street tires, there is little to no performance benefit to going significantly wider than your wheel. 235s or 245s on 9" wide wheels would be perfect.
In terms of "no data" - talk to any national competitor who's experimented with overtiring street tires. They'll give you all the data you need.

I figured it was hard to be wrong going with the 235/45-17 RS3 at $139/tire. I'm a recent college grad trying to get back into running a street car after driving for my school's FSAE team for several years. It should be enough tire to be competitive locally here in the SATX area and we'll see about nationals another year after I get some more experience in the car.

Howdy,
Absolutely. I think you'll be really happy with that setup.
