Just bought a pack of 25 microfiber towels from BJs for $9.99. Now I thought that was a pretty good deal, which is why I was surprised to discover that there's a $3 rebate on those towels (an even better deal). Not sure how long this will last, but it's a pretty decent deal.
I might go back tomorrow and get another pack!

Just remember... when it comes to towels, you get what you pay for. I have used BJ's / Costco towels in the past for small jobs on my car but definitely not on the paint. I have had these towels leave fine scratches on the car when removing wax so I no longer use them on the paint.

I've used the Costco MF towels for over a year with zero paint scratches. Even checking for very fine lines under bright sunlight. Keep them clean and they work fine, IMHO.

I've used them on my car four separate times, no problems. They're very good quality. Not that I care if anyone gets them, I have no financial interest in the matter, don't work for BJ's or the towel company, but do you work for Fiber-Works or something? They're in your sig... vendor?
Regardless, you remind me of this movie character who once tried to stir up anti-smoking sentiment by showing pictures and props related to lung disease to smokers who would show up at a convenience store to by cigarettes... only to be discovered as a "Chewlie's Gum" representative trying to increase gum sales by scaring smokers into quitting...

Well...this isn't as great of a deal as Bastage's, but for us folks on the west coast, just stop by WalMart and they have an 8 pack of good quality microfiber towels (blue) for less than $5. They're not thin like a lot of other brands, but nice and fluffy. Works out to like 60 cents per towel, which is pretty decent.

The only reason I personally don't recommend using bjs (or costco) towels on your paint is because I have had a bad experience with them. I think the ones from coscto are better than the ones from bjs and not a bad deal for the price, I just prefer a towel thats plusher and won't scratch.
No, I don't work for fiberworks ... I just recommend them to people as I like their products.

If you can rub the back of a CD with your MF towels with moderate pressure without it scratching then your fine if it leaves scratches then your sure to scratch your clearcoat. I'm not cheap when it comes to buying towels. Only the plushest softest touch my paint. I would save the cheepie towels for rocker panels and door jambs.
