Best way to Shine Tires?
I don't trust tire shines. I've heard they're horrible for your tires because it takes the oils of the tire itself. I was recommended lemon juice. And it actually works. It doesn't look AS good, but it makes me feel better.

Generally you would want to stay away from tire shines with petroleum dissolates, those will damage the tire over time. Usually those are aerosal can versions or version that are completely clear.
Water based ones are fine. They are usually the creamy color when in the bottle. Examples would be Zaino Z16, Duragloss (dont remember the #), Armor All...etc.
Also, the GEL type tire shines are water based as well. They should be ok. Popular one there is the Meguiars purple stuff. It smells like Jolly Ranchers.

When u say lemon juice, u litterally mean Lemon juice or is it just a brand in the US. If it is I gotta try. interesting.
I usually buy a silicone emulsion from any local chemical store. it's the basic ingridients the tyres shine companies uses, before mixing it up with other cost savings stuff.

nope, never!
I can take pic of my Kumho's for you after 20,000 miles.
My SUV had it's tires on for over 50,000 miles and they never cracked or damaged the side walls. Keep in mind my cars get washed every weekend and get tire shine on them.

any tire shine is fine to use. and i dont know where your buying lemon juice, but that would seem to cost more $$$$
also lemon juice is a citric acid, im not sure but i would think that would be more harsh on your tires than tire shine.

I've only had that happen when I get over zealous and use too much product. Less is more.
Any of the leading products are fine. Meguiar's Hot Shine for me at present. I pump spray it onto one of those curved foam pads and then apply to the tire.

I'm now on my 3rd set of tires in 2 years. Yes, I drive my car the way it was intended to be driven.
