Clay the car asap, and follow with Zaino. If it has swirls, use a polish first.

But, if you get a paint job done thats aftermarket(repair or custom paint job), you need to wait 6 months for the paint to dry.

The exception are cars made in England.

If you wait six months after a repaint (ofr repair or custom paint) your paint will be exposed to alot of nasty and will suffer the consequences.

Which means that for new cars, I can just get down to it immediate and Zaino! Cool. I can't wait to see the shine on my Vred. And thanks for the tips, will remember that about repaints, but let's hope I'll never need that!

im not gonna lie... the cars loook amazing with the zaino.. and if i were to buy zaino id get the full complete package of everything.. i love my car to death and everything but i currently use eagle 1 products and they work fine... and eveyr 2 weeks i give it a coat of Nu-Finish which seems to hold it up nice too.. only thing stopping me from becomming a Zaino addict is the amount of time it takes to apply to get a full show car shine. I really dont feel liek spending 6 hours of my weekend Zainoing my car.. i also have work and school and i need time to do other things.. 6 hours polishing a car is just rediculous and for those of you who have the time ur very lucky =] i would definatley do it in a heartbeat if i had more time on a weeeknd.. i like to take my car out on the weekends after owrk or somethin and just go for a drive .. yes i want it to look good and clean but i dont want to spend 6 hours on it when i hav other things to do,... how long does it last for anyway? One application of zaino products? im talkin the full dawn wash, clay bar, the Z2, ZFX, Z5, Z7, buff off, Z7 again buff off spray Z5 etc etc whatever the process may be...can you also do 2 or more applications of the shiny stuff before the car is actually completed? or do you have to go back and start all over again before you can apply the 2nd coating of zaino..meaning re wash it with the claybar and everything.. or could u just be putting Z2 after Z2 after Z2 or whichever one it is.. im so ocnfused by this.. why couldnt Zaino just use regular names for the stuff instead of letters and numbers lol..

Without going back and reading this whole thread, I can personally tell you that you will never spend six hours on your car when using Zaino. I can possibly see it during the first application if you are completing every step that you described above. However, the beauty of Zaino is that you do not have to perform all of those steps. Any of thier products can be the final step. Obviously if you want a "show car shine" it would be needed, but not very many people, especially daily drivers, can maintain a show car appearance.
With that being said, lucky for me, the person that I bought my 8 from was one of these types that would litterally work on it a couple of hours every weekend. With the exception of rock chips, there was not a single swirl mark etc. to be found.
I personally hate cleaning cars, but since the 8 is so nice, I wash it once a week. I kept threatening to buy the starter kit, but the water never stopped beading. Finally almost a year later I broke down and bought the Ultaimate Protection Kit due to swirl marks from my normal washing.
The first couple of coats of Z5 removed almost all of them. With the ZFX, I could literally start buffing in about 5 minutes. Now that I am just adding coats here and there, I can do a coat of Z2 or Z5 in about 20 minutes. You put it on really sparingly, so the effort to remove it is less that actually washing it.
The only time you will have to clay bar, is if you have impurities in your paint. It works great on water spots and cleans the **** out of your windows.
Take the plunge, you won't be dissapointed!

this is my first zaino application..i drove down 20 hours straight from massachusetts to florida for my younger bros wedding...i received my zaino products in the mail before i left for florida...was dying to use it ...i ordered everything even the new trio kit...except for the leather ,wheel and glass cleaner stuff...florida has better weather so i was waiting till i got there...when i got down i had nothing but bug guts all over the car..took 2 days to apply this stuff because i started kinda late and ended up finishing it up the next day...i usually use meguires new stuff the nxt...but after using zaino i won't switch back to anything...best stuff i've ever used(my opinion)...i don't even wanna drive the car..haha...but here are the results...this is what i did:
1.wash with dawn
2.clay bared
3.washed with w7
4.applied the Z-AIO
5.applied 2 coats of z5 using z6 in between coats
6.applied 2 coasts of z2 using z6 in between coats
7.did a wipe down of the new z8 after the final coat of z2
8.applied the new z-cs waited 12 hours
9.applied the final coat of z8

Good stuff here. The most important thing is the prep work. You can get outstanding results from cheaper products as well if you take the time. How long it last is a question based off a lot of factors not just the wax quality but Zaino sets a pretty high bar. I've been trying different products and usually get about the same results but may try Zaino to be accepted by my peers. I swear, a lot of you guys would marry Zaino if the Bush administration deemed it legal.

I'll post pics of my wwp once I get a chance to zaino it. My gf got me zaino for valentines day... and "Street Turbocharging"... She's convinced I'm gonna kill myself if I put nitrous on my car, but for some reason, she doesn't connect a turbo with danger..
