Car WASH Suggestions

Looking for some suggestions on what kind of car wash to use when washing my black 8? I've tried several ones and they all seem to, slowly strip the wax.

Any suggestions?

Detergents strip wax. regular car soap will work. I'm biased toward meguiar's nxt car wash. well... all of meguiar's products.

Zaino Z-7 Show Car Wash
This stuff is very easy on your wax and has a UV 40 rating. (always helpful with black cars)

I am a big fan of Zymol clear, used with a natural sea sponge. It is expensive though - $40 for 16oz.

I'm usually afraid of anything that says, "Quick & Easy" In car terms that usually translates into "Cheap & Useless"

Ok Ok so after reading all the rave reviews about Zaino I decided to take the plunge. I have only used Liquid Glass since I brought her home. Now my intentions were to try a few products at first then go from there. But noooooo I had to go whole hog and order the Ultimate Kit. So it looks like I'll be planning my own Zaino weekend soon. Thanks guys.

the quikest and coolest thing about Zaino after you do the inital hard work of claybarring, and a few coats of wax. When it comes to the regular wash I am always impressed after the wash and a spray of Z-7 "anti-static" / "cleaning" spray. Makes the whole care gleam and smooth as a baby's *** (not that I would know how smooth a baby's *** is) but you get the point. and it only takes about 10 min to do the whole car with a spray of Z7

Never used zymbol, sounds too much like Zaino. Cheap imitation maybe? I don't really know, sorry.

All car wash soaps will slowly strip your wax. I like to buy an over the couter wash solution that isn't too expensive but does a great job of cleaning as well as lubricating while I'm washing because I wash my car so frequently. That's why I go with Meguiars Gold Class shampoo. Target sells it for about 10 bucks a gallon. Using too much soap and not enough water will strip your wax faster but if your using zaino it lasts so long anyway that you shouldn't have to worry about it stripping much of the protection off. I'm on my 4th layer of Z2-Pro right now

Zymol, Swiss product - one of the best **** on earth to keep your paint nice. The cleaning kit alone coz more than 800 dollars US.

$800 for a kit. No thanks, I'll save my money for other things that work just as well at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, its fricking expensive, my sis brought her car for a full waxing job and the wax lasted the whole damn year. The depth and all scratches were all gone but each job cost about $250 US each time taking half a day.

Zaino Z7 is the only way to go, plus it smells damn good.

Z-7™ Show Car Wash is a concentrated blend of special cleaners, conditioners and our famous Show Car Polish ingredients that clean and enhance the gloss of painted surfaces. Z-7™ Show Car Wash gently cleans your car without using harsh detergents, alkali or acids. Plus, our special water-based lubricants buffer the paint to prevent scratching and reduce the risk of swirl marks, even on black and red cars.

Our unique formula produces loads of suds, even in hard water conditions. And, the suds last and last. With Z-7™ Show Car Wash, you won't have flat wash water before you're finished washing your car.

To keep your car looking its best, Z-7™ Show Car Wash includes Ultra-Gard™ UV(40), to renew protection from the sun's harmful rays, and several polymer ingredients from our Show Car Polish systems. You will love the results.

The Z-7 bottle contains 16 fl. ozs. (473 ml.)

Dont use Johnsons baby shampoo.

All the products recommended are fine, but DO NOT use shampoo, dawn, ect. You need to use a car wash product.

Personally, Ive used Meguirs Gold Class, NXT, and Griots Garage- all good car wash.

And with a black car, use only quality cloths, etc. I use a white 100% cotton wash cloth and a boars hair brush to wash and micro fiber towels to dry.

I dont see anythere here about using drying Chamois cloths. The yellow ones. Used to use these back in 1997 (the last time I had a car a cared about). Obsolete now? Just cotton cloths these days?

Don't know--real chamois is so damned expensive that I don't use one. But a good, BIG, microfiber towel works much better for me than the artificial chamois.

But 100% cotton certainly has it's proponents.
