dealership sticker

Any tips on getting the dealership sticker from the bumper? I tried with my finger nail, but it keeps breaking (its got a silver back) off in little bits.

TIA.

is it a dealer emblem or just a vinyl sticker? if it is emblem, use a hair dryer. if it is a sticker... keep working.

How long ago did you get the car? If it was recent, go back to them and make them take it off. If they scratch the car they pay to fix it.

Each time we have bought a car I made sure they took of the dealer sticker off at the detail. One dealership said.. "Well, we might ahve to charge you to remove it." I told them to leave it on and I will send them a bill for $100 a month for advertising. They took it right away.

Hairdrier is how the dealership gets them off.

I don't have a way to get one to where the car is :-\

So far I spent two hours scratchin it away with my finger nail.... result is half a dealership sticker there, and 3 bloody fingers (from where it would go and cut me open underneath the nail)...

Rubbing alcohol isnt bad for the paint of a car is it?

Once you peel it off use some rubbing alcohol on the area to get the glue off. After that dries put a little bit of wax or polish on that area to protect it since the alcohol cleaned the paint for you.

This is what I did [mine was a dealer emblem] I told the dealership to take it off. They did not object and my rear looks fresh and clean !

I'd do that, but the dealership is 45 mins away, and I don't have time to get there.

I'll try the warm/hot water tomorrow...

I used the alcohol to get the glue off of what i got so far, worked good...

Shoot it.

Really, though... get Goo Gone and some kind of very thin tool (like a putty knife). Lift the edge, shoot the Goo Gone, repeat.

A couple hours.

Anyway, I had to go up there today to get the tags and registration, so I had them take if off there then (they used a hairdryer looking thing, then lighter fluid I think).
