"Gold" Racing Beat Exhaust Tips - Not Any More!
#76
mine went gold w/ a new exhaust in about 2 weeks, 1 month tops maybe? after cleaning them when i originally posted, they are just starting to gold. they are degrading nowhere near as fast after using the english custom polish as they originally did.

The english custom polish is much better than any other product I tried for the RB exhaust. After 30k my cans were so gold there were almost brown and the tips were always a light gold no matter how much I polished them or what I used. Now the whole system is as bright silver as when I picked it up at SS7. Thanks for the tip (pun intended )

I recommend applying it to new exhaust tips as they will not get as gold as if they weren't treated.

Yeah, when I ordered mine it was taking a while so I called them up and they had the product but were waiting for a shipement of "caps" for the bottles before they could send the shipment out.
Nice man I talked to on the phone but they're not the fastest company ever. Worth the wait though, especially with that pretty new exhaust of yours...

It took a while for mine also.
They sent me an email to let me know they were waiting for bottles.
Does anyone elses bottles leak?
I put teflon tape on the threads to solve this.

Got it yesterday, just had to wait one more day before posting a question about how long it takes to arrive.
Well, I laid down behind the car to start cleaning the tips, and I found that I may have a leak in my exhaust. Right where the center pipe and the muffler meet. I loosened the clamp, and moved it slightly closer to the muffler, and tightened it a little more than the specs call for.
Hope that takes care of it.

I polished my tips w/ this stuff back in the beginning of March '06 and haven't really had to touch them since. They are getting a little bit gold, but only barely so. They still have plenty of silver shine. Before polishing with this stuff, the tips went gold/blue in about 2 months. So the protection does work.
So I think polishing maybe half a year or less should do the trick. I am going to polish mine again sometime before winter (and this time get the bottom of the cans as well), probably in a month or two.
