NH headlight haze

I have this strange haze crap on my headlights that doesnt seem to come off on the outside. Ive tried scrubbing with white vinegar and soap but it doesnt come off. When I wash the car as the water is running over it its clears as can be but once it dries it comes right back. this must mean its on the outside right? Anyone have a solution to this issue?

Meguiars Plastic Polish

http://meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+M1008

edit: you can use their cleaner product first as a 2-step process.

You can also try Pittman's ALR One-Step Cleaner. I bought this last week, tried it and it works surprizingly good! I cant say how long it last but my headlights look great right now lol. I'll do my mom's car tomorrow and post some before and after pics for you.

After using either one of those products you still need to use plastic polish

don't go thru all this rx81980, all you have to do it wet sand them with a 1000 grit and automotive clear coat. Add 2 or 3 coats to the headlights and it will look new, yeah if you ever get a bug stuck to it when its still wet(I should know) just get some rubbing compound after it dries and duff away....good as new

Great post Phalkhan.
My headlights were only a few years old. It was no way I was going to let some fool anywhere near my car with any kind of sandpaper or abrasives.
Pittman's ALR works for me everytime.
I've used it on several headlights. It only takes a few seconds.
The deoxidizer just dissolves the oxidation off the lens leaving the lens smooth and clear.
No rough surface that you have to recover from like with abrasives.
I use the conditioner that comes with the ALR APC 360ID to keep them from reoxidizing.

You need a clear coat that is UV protectorant which isn't at the automotive stores.

It will yellow in time, 6mnths to a year.
