How long before you throw out your Microfiber Towels?

How long before you throw out your Microfiber Towels?
I've done 2 thorough zainoings of the car the towels still have a lot of their fibers etc. I hand washed them in Tide and than added fabric softener to them, however there is still the dirty center of the towel that all the dirt removal/waxing was done with. So when is it time for a new set of towels?
