Meguiar's Trim Detailer Used It Today!
Hey guys and gals! Used another Meguiar's product and thought I'd share the results.
Yesterday went to the World of Wheels in Boston and seen a Meguiar's booth. Figured I'd check it out and see if they had anything new. I didnt see anything new BUT.. my god were they cheap. I'd say the booth had products up to $3 cheaper than the local Advanced Auto Parts or Pep Boys, I mentioned it to the guy running the booth and he said "Well we only sell stuff at MSRP so...". Well I went up and down the booth looking for sumthing I could possibly use and I seen Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer. I read the usage of it and knew I needed it. Cost me only $3.00!!!!!!!!!!!
Today in New England its unseasonably warm so I figured I'd go out and detail my car with my new product. I had no aplicator pads so I used one of my terry cloth's, I either poured the product on the trim itself or onto the cloth both ways worked fine. I perfered pouring on the cloth first though a bit easier to manage that way. You just rub the product on and wipe off any excess. Stuff worked great let me tell you. For the $3.00 price it couldnt be beat.

I seen the best results from the Mirrors like night and day (hopefully the pictures fully show this!)

It claims both but since its my first use I can't officaly say "Yet". It claims to last for weeks instead of days. Also its definatly a cleaner though since the terry cloth I used by the end of the usage was very very black. I had to flip it around a few times 'cause it got that diry. Like my other "review" thread I'll definatly be updating the thread as the days/weeks roll on.
Just went out (for a drive) hours after applying and its still nice and rich in color unlike say Armorall and such which I used in the past to bring some sort of shine out in those plastics 'cause they looked so dull.

Yeah it definatly took off the grime and any wax residue that was on the plastic. I hope it last's for a few weeks min 2 weeks, only saying that because of the winter weather and all. In the summer I hope to have it last atleast a month or more.

Another product that works well for interior and exterior detailing is called Protec. It is another one of those products that is advertised for RVs like quick and easy wash.
Takes sticky adhesive off with ease as well.
Only downside is it doesn't shine up like Armorall does (which I am very glad when using on the dash).
Is also safe for 3M paint protectant, it adds UV protection.

Clavius, looking nice and sharp! Love the trim shine!
Try Pep Boys, they carry a larger selection.
I do not like Mother's Back to Black. I used it several times, and while it looks good when it's on, when it goes away, it leaves white specks/residue all over. If you keep reapplying it, it's fine, but it's an eye sore if you are too busy to keep putting that stuff on. I also don't like how liquid Mother's is: it's easy to put on a little too much in one spot and then have it drip down on the paint.
I recommend Poorboy's Trim Restorer, which is what I use right now and is my favorite. It doesn't leave white residue when it goes away. It also treats the plastic similar to Mother's Back to Black (not just a trim dressing). It also doesn't run/drip as easily as Mother's, so it's easier to apply (more forgiving).

^ Yeah this stuff was very thick and definatly not watery.
I tried Pepboys in Dedham and they have the same as Advanced Auto Parts only difference is they carry a nice line of supplies for buffers.

Well It's been two weeks since using the product and stuff still looks good as new. It has rained and been fridid cold these past two weeks up in good ole MA so the product has proven itself to me. I think come the spring I'll the product on my engine cover (first just a small portion (to check for heat viability dont want to ruin the cover by using this.). Also somewhat curious how this will look/work on some of the interior plastic piece's (door trim portions only mind you not the dash or center console.).

Meguiar's trim detailer is for external surfaces only. I don't know exactly why, but I wouldn't use it on the interior.
Clavius, try Meguiar's #40 for the interior. It's a nice cleaner and gives things a real nice sheen (not greasy or anything). It has a touch of an ammonia (clean hospital?) smell, though, during application.

Yeah a shiny dash is not good on the eyes during the day because of the glare it causes onto the glass.
If a person must have a shiny dash a pair of polarized sunglasses are a good investment.

haha ok guys.. I kinda figured on the dash and all but I'd love to find something to really make the piece's by the door brighten or darken rather up. They just look dull and the wipes I've been using dont seem to do the job properly (to me atleast.) here is the section I'd love to do this to.
This is after using some wipes.. just looks dull and faded (to me).
