Meguirs NXT wax

Has anyone tried the new Meguirs NXT (Next generation) wax?
If you have, what are your comments?

NXT Wax

I have tried it... I tested it out on my hood only to see what it's like. My car is real dirty now so I'm going to wash it, clay it, and wax with a couple of coats of NXT (both wax and spray). I will take before (dirty) and after pics to post. I'll be washing it tomorrow some time.

NXT Wax Complete

OK... this is the process I used :

- Wash car with Dawn to remove any old wax
- Clay car using Meguiar's Quick Clay
- Wash car using car wash soap
- Apply 3M polish
- Apply Coat 1 of NXT Wax
- Apply Coat 1 of NXT Spray Wax
- Apply Coat 2 of NXT Wax
- Apply Coat 2 of NXT Spray Wax
- Apply Final Coat of S100 Carnauba Wax

The final coat of the Carnauba wax gives the car the deep wet look. I purchased mine from the local Harley Davidson store. I will attach a few pics to show the results. Any comments are welcome.

I've used it on a couple of my cars. Easy to use, seems to fill swirls well, and gets better after about 12 hours of curing time (better shine and smoother feel). Probably as good as any of the mass market products out there. Longevity remains to be seen, though, since it's still so new.

Flawless...those pics look GREAT!

I did this to our black Tahoe this weekend..stuff is comparable to Zaino, if not slightly better due to ease of use...and cheaper...

thanks... although the NXT wax is good stuff... I do think the polish and carnauba wax made a big difference to the final look... if you try out the carnauba let me know how it goes.

I used that NXT on my black NSX and like it alot! As mentioned before, I'd compare it to Zaino, but alot easier to apply, cheaper and easier to come by.

It also has depth, which Zaino lacks.

Regarding the Carnuba wax, while surfing the other forums, I heard applying Carnuba was useless since this stuff is polymer and the carnuba will basicaly not stick to it.

BTW whats the main difference between S100 and P21s?

Carnauba

Personally I think the carnauba made a difference in the final product but its up to you to decide whether or not to use it.

S100 vs. P21s

S100 and P21s are exactly the same... if you take a look at the containers they are exactly the same other than the text on them and they are manufactured by the same people.

Thanks flawless, after looking at a bunch of other car forums, it turned out that alot of people use p21s or s100 over the NXT with great results. I think I'll be ordering some s100 now!

I have not tried the s100 by itself so if you do use it by itself please post some pics... I'm curious as to how it will come out.

I'll probably be applying it over the NXT...seems that most people that have tried it came up with very good results.

If you want pictures of p21s alone, head over to www.s2ki.com and do a search for p21s. You'll see many people using that alone on their S2000s.

I got two different Meguirs products this weekend for my first waxing since the weather hasn't been condusive to doing so until now.

I started with the Meguirs which has Carnuba wax (Gold maybe???) and put the first coat on. Then I followed up with a second coat of the Meguirs NXT. I'm not sure if I waisted my time with the first coat or not since the NXT is a polymer and may have removed the first, not sure of the exact science of waxing compounds. The shine is great! It's very glassy looking and went on fairly easy. The NXT touts that it gives a darkening luster to the paint but I coudn't tell that it looked any different this morning.

I haven't been able to find Zaino in this area yet but have seen Zylol (I think that's it's name) and have heard it is comparable but not quite as good.
