OK I jumped on the wagon - bought the NXT at WalMart for ~$13 and the booster for ~$6 and detailed the car. I think that I am sold on this stuff for now. I used the zaino a couple of times and granted it is good stuff but this stuff is cheaper and leaves a slicker finish and seems to do a good job of repelling dust/water. I had to drive through a big puddle on the ground at speed and there is still not a speck on the car. I would highly recommend that you check this stuff out if you are curious about it.

What's the "booster" for $6?

The NXT Booster is basically like Zaino Z6 which you would use after a normal wash - think of it as a Z6/quick wax/detail finishing spray. It is milky and kind of looks like a diluted mixture of the NXT wax.

Glad that you liked it Thunder - have you used zaino as well? Just wonder how you would compare the 2. I have used the zaino products and this seems to keep up with them.

Did the 8 last week with NXT, and was very impressed. Someone said it needed to "cure" for a day or so before it looks its best, and that's turned out to be the case: The NXT looked wonderful but a little bit streaky on my blue, despite some serious buffing. But by the next day the streakiness was gone, and the whole car just glowed. It does darken and richen the color, by the way - the effect is subtle, but it's there.

So this morning I got out and NXT'ed the wife's white Camry. Looks terrific.

I may offer my as-yet-unused box o' Zaino stuff up for sale. This stuff is really good, and the price is right ($14.99 at AutoZone, though someone in this thread mentioned it's cheaper at Wal-Mart).

Based on the input from this thread I tried the NXT wax today- damn it's impressive. So easy to apply and remove, shines great and smells cool too. AutoZone didn't have the spray detailer- I still have to find some for touch-ups, but the wax itself is a keeper. Hard to tell anything from this shot, but the shine is a 100% improvement...

I have never used Zaino, but this is by far the easiest wax I have ever used!! It filled in swirls and gave an incredibly deep shine with one single coat. Best of all there was NO annoying dust dring the buff out and final wipe down that occurs with every other brand I have used before. Goes on easy and after 15 min you wipe the whole car down, no need to do little bits here and there.

Also, I don't know what the whole idea of hiding the gold mica flecks in the paint was all about, cause mine shine as bright as ever. I think this is where I'll put my $$ as it is certainly cheaper than the alternative!

I just put 2 coats of this NXT on my 8 because she's a ***** and went puddle hopping all last night :b

I don't have a good camera to take pics with so I have to use my crappy cell phone camera which doesn't do this justice at all. It just looks great!

Wink NXT

JUst bought NXT and detail spray at Wal_Mart 18.00 for both and did my daughters eclipse spyder with the NXT and then used the detail spray after it sat for a little. The results were great, did my SUV and will do the RX8 soon. Would do the RX8 tomorrow but some A** hole backed into our RX8 3 days after we bought it . It goes to body shop in two weeks and they are going to paint the whole front of the car. The jerk backed into the front and the car needs a new front bumper and all the other stuff on the front of the car. We have the app. package also.. I do like the looks of the cars, they really shine and its easy to use.

How forgiving is this stuff if you get it on the black trim? I know from experience that Zaino comes right off easily. I want to try the NXT on my 98 black explorer first.

The NXT itself left no white on my black trim, but the detail spray did. Even though the detail spray left some white residue behind I can still find no fault with this wax at all!! Since I switched from Mother's to the NXT I have received many comments on how smooth and glassy the surface looks especially after a rainfall.

As for using the detail spray right after waxing, the instructions on the NXT TECH wax states that it fully cures in 24 hours. I would wait until the followingday and spray it down to apply the detail spray booster wax.

The other important highlights is how little of the wax you have to use to get a great shine and the total lack of wax dust when removing it from the car.

I used the stuff today - it went on and came off surprisingly easy considering my black car was baking in the sun. The finish is quite good, however its not like any of us have bad paint to start with so probably even crappy wax would give great results on a new car. I will see how long it lasts.

I also used some Meguirs Scratch-X . The stuff seems to be good at removing stains from bird crap and general marring of paint. It will help hide small scratches but doesn't really get rid of them.... not that I was really expecting it to. Its a pretty good product I think.

has anyone tried doing half the car with Zaino and Half with NXT?

if i hadnt just done my black 8 yesterday with Zaino, i would go get the NXT and do it.

but if this stuff is cheaper and easier and looks just as good...why is everyone so excited about zaino? i think i will have to go get this NXT stuff and give it a try in a few months. if it is good stuff, then will have to use the zaino up or sell remainder or something.....that was some hard work yesterday!

Probably because Zaino has been around longer. Supposedly this NXT wax has been in development for several years...I am perfectly happy with the NXT rpoducts that I do not see myself ever going the extra $$ to try Zaino. IMO

Yup, I am half and half on my car and have no problems. Totally worth your time to check this stuff out.
