Please help me with my Porter-Cable Buffer

After re-reading your previous post and my response, I felt that my response was a bit too harsh (specially the last paragraph). I have been thinking about those scratches that are deep enough that you can feel them with your nails but not as deep that you can see the primer. My advice of leaving those alone still stand. However, in order to solve the wax accumulation that will make those scratches more apparent. I would ease the "sharpness of the scratch" (lack of better term). In other words, I won't try to totally remove the scratch but to improve its appearance. Also by easing the sharpness of the scratch you will be able to remove most of the accumulated wax. I believe that those scratches are isolated so you can treat them with Scratch X by hand since you already have it in you arsenal. Anyway, here is another article regarding how to properly use Scratch X.

i like to order my pads from www.topoftheline.com , fast shipping (well kinda. 4 days) , great deals , cheap pads (lake country, buy two and you get an even better deal). you shouldve brought the PC 7427 kit which includes more than what www.autopia.org had to offer for the same price (actually less). id skip the dwan wash and just do regular wash, yeah clay does remove some wax and polishing removes all the wax. well have fun with your PC!

Cool; thanks. I may need more pads soon. What's the best pad to use with a microfiber bonnet? My pads are all full of wax and polish now. Should I use a dedicated (i.e., clean) pad for the bonnets?

So far I am a fan of Meguiar's because I can get them locally without too much problems and easier to use as well. The only thing that is not Meg are 303 protectant and Blue coral metal polish. I really like the matte finish on my dash with the 303.
