Try This
I ran a little experiment, using Peanut Butter, take a look and decided if you want to try it.

get 'back to black', you should be able to get it at any automotive store, and even walmart.
it really helped get the black plastic back to being black, instead of white... also works on scuff marks.

The problem with Back to Black, or so I've read on Autopia, is that it merely covers up the wax; it doesn't solve the problem in the long run--which means after a number of washes, the white residue should return. I'm continuing to experiment with 3M Adhesive & Wax Remover, followed by, of all things, a tire shine dressing (any of the silicone-based clear liquids; i.e., Black Magic Tire Shine).
Also, be sure to do a search in the future, as there have been a couple of threads on this topic in just the last week.

I use Mequiar's NXT Tech Protectant I just spray it on a clean rag and wipe across all black pieces cleans off wax and dirt and looks great i use it around the sunroof and around the mirrors no hassle and looks good!

I'm still trying to find a product to remove the white residue from the exterior plastic bits on the car (rear lower bumper, side-mirrors casing). I don't think I can get the magic eraser stuff where I live. I've tried a few different products but none seem to clean off the white stuff properly. And I'd rather clean it than use black on black, which would be as a last resort. Any advice?
