sexy... did you do the center too?
|
Nope, it was a close enough match, so I didn't bother. A lot of light coats will get it done. I nearly used the whole can on both.
|
Paint will also discolor and fade over time. The best solution is a product called Forever Black. http://www.foreverblack.com

I've heard good things about Forever Black on small plastic trims. Unfortunately, I have been told that it streaks on large surfaces (mostly due to the applicator I'm assuming). It looks great in the pictures though, but did you have any issues with the application and results?
|
It takes a little practice, much like painting, in order to avoid any streaking. A few coats helps too.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the input to this thread.
Altspace, your the bomb. Forever Black is the bomb. Everything looks fantastic. It just takes getting use to. Multiple coats even as possible. Thought I would share a few pics. Sorry for not having before pics. I will take a few more when all is back together. |
That looks super clean. I'm going to have to throw this on the to-do list.
|
Most welcome. :)

I just used Forever Black on my shrouds yesterday and they look brand new... here is a tip...
the applicator bottle has a sponge tip and makes it hard to prevent it from steaking. So I applied it with the sponge tip then used a microfiber towel to smooth in on...no streaks and looks like new! |

First part tells you how to do it, take the bottom clips off...i used pliers, then carefully just pull of the shrouds, note the position of the tabs and pull and they should pop off one by one I used Forever black, put 4 coats and they came out pretty good, it still streaked a bit and if you look close you can see it. the applicator tends to bubble up a bit especially on the side of the sponge, just smooth out the bubbles with a cloth before it dries |

Some before and after comparisons, Forever Black worked great and some Mothers Polish on the tips (still got some work to do there)
|
Welcome. ;)

Mine is stating to turn grey as well. There is a long lasting wax that is sold on the as seen on tv add for vehicle plastic panels. waxes pretty much anything.
