Scratches hard plastic seat backs

Yea,

Kids were loading/unloading a guitar with metal clasp across back seat and scratched the hard plastic on upper back of passenger's seat. I was pissed. Any ideas on fixing this. I guess it would have to sanded/painted?

Thanks!

^^^Thanks for starting this thread. I've put single posts on other threads with the same question, but didn't get any helpful responses. I hope this is more productive.

I've also gouged up the back of the driver seat pretty badly (can't blame the kids!) and I'd sure like to get it looking presentable again.

I had a similar thing happen to me.

Is your car a 2004? Is your dealership pretty accomadating?

If so go hear, and download the "chips and scrathes in plastic seat back cover" TSB towards the bottom of the list.

http://www.finishlineperformance.com...ins_index.html

Mazda changed the seat back material because the seat belt latches were scratching the plastic. So, if you happened to have seat belt scratches on the plastic, they will replace them under this TSB. They are a single piece, so the replacement would take care of your guitar scratch as well.

Yes, I have an 05 - I noticed rub-marks on the back of the driver's seat and assumed they were from the seatbelt. Then I noticed a gash above them... argh...!

Can we do anything? The TSB looks like it applies only to certain 04's.

A hair dryer can take out some scrates on plastic. Deponds upon what type of plastic it is.
