Titanium Tips

Those of you who have an exhaust with titanium tips. Just wondering what you guys do to keep them clean or to prevent the burnt tips (the blue) from fading. Any products you recommend and how to apply (microfiber ?? steel wool ??). Any products i should stay away from that will deblue the tips ?

Also does driving in winter affect the titanium tips.. with all the salt etc etc.

Thanks !!!

I am wondering what to use as well since I just swapped my exhaust for the HKS Hi-Power and want to know what to use to keep it clean. I've been searching the interwebz a bit and found some good info from my350z.com.

NO!

Do not use metal polish on a titanium finish, unless you want to remove the burnt finish.

How long does that take? Two years and no fading.

I did a light wipe on and buff off and already saw the blue color getting lighter.

People who do not like the burnt ti-tip finish from an exhaust system are typically told to polish the tips to remove the burnt look. It can be completely turned into a chrome or brushed tip finish with enough buffing. Only if the tips are titanium, though, not if they are stainless steel burnt finish.
