Wow, I just read on the Zaino website that an 8 ounce bottle of polish is enough to do a Corvette 20 times! I've been using way too much polish then -- about an ounce per coat.

 

Yeah.... you will spread it across your car so thinly you can barely see it. I made the same mistake, but with my gloss spray. I would wet every single inch of the car, then wipe it off. Small wonder I ran out of gloss spray after about 2-3 months.

 

I also made the same mistake first time using Zaino because I had never used a polish before, only wax....using Zaino is a totally different application process.

I discovered the best way to regulate the usuage was to get ZFX. It comes with 4 two ounce mixing bottles to add a few drops with Z2 (or Z5). So if you mix one ounce (half a bottle) then should get three coats on the RX-8. Sure, you don't need to buy ZFX just to get the two ounce bottles, but I've found the ZFX mix to be more durable than using Z1 which is important if you wash your car a lot.

 

I get 2-3 coats with one ounce! Trick is too dampen the applicator pad with the spray first, then use only enough zanio to put a very light haze/film on the car. Less is better! If you have to use any force at all to remove it, then that is way too much.
