Venturetape versus 3M Paint Protection
Anyone have any comments or reviews of the Venturetape Paint Protection?
I was going to have put on the 3M Paint Protection system but the installer said they also have available a new product from Venturetape which is easier (i.e. cheaper) to install and supposedly looks a little better.
Hmmm OK i just realized that Venturetape=Venture Shield. If I do go with Venture Shield, is the 6m or 12m recommended? 12m seems kind of thick and maybe too noticeable?

I found retailers by going to 3m.com and expel.com. They have a way to search for retailers based upon zip code. I've gotten a couple quotes from $450 to $600.
The cheapest was with blockachip.com and they seemed to be very responsive too. I think they have their own brand of 3m film, which I think just means they cut their own patterns.
The most expensive was for venture tape.
The xpel.com was in the middle which is another brand of 3m film.
Some installers offer 3m, venture tape, and avery denison options.

Thank you Doggy! I appreciate the information! I am very interested in pursuing it, because I really don't want chips and HATE the way bras look. (...on cars that is! hehe)

search for my 3m thread with many pics. I had the standard 3M material on the front bumper and hood/fenders, then I had them put thicker material on the rear bumper, wrapping around to the side all the way to the panel seam- hardly noticable at all, and I like the better protection of the thicker on the rear-
I will say this- with the X-pel kit- on teh front bumper- ther are two vert small spots on the lower part of the bumper- two curves that the material lifted away a littel bit- Maybe it can be glued back down- there is a limit to the curves this stuff can stick to though.

Have you guys heard of ClearShield? It's similar to xpel in its thickness (8 mil) and it's computer cut as well. I got a quote for my Protege 5, full front protection including side mirrors $75 installed.
