Was it 100% cotton made in USA terry cloth?

I've stopped using cotton cloths and now only use good microfibers (like one from exceldetail). The ExcelDetail polishing MF towel that I have doesn't scratch a CD (one of the tests), but my 100% cotton made in USA $15 bath towel does. The store-bought budget MF scratched up the CD as well.

Actually my 100% cotton terry passed a much higher test. I use the same towels for the car that I use on my black lacquer grand piano. The piano sits under daylight balanced halogen spots and even the slightest scratch would have been visible.

I use zaino on the piano too. I wouldn't go near it with a meguiars product.

I like the idea of using the cd to test though. Got zillions of those that I throw out all the time. Now i'll keep a few handy for testing my claybars.

I used to run a detailing shop a long time ago and I would swear by Liquid Glass. From here on I use Meguiars because it is cheap. Ive just been reading the last couple of pages and there are alot of people that like Zaino. I will probably give it a try this summer. Is Zaino a product you could buy at your local Wal-mart?

No, you have to either order it online at www.zainobros.com or through one of their local to your area distributors. I just received my recent order with the new Z-PC and am hopefully going to see how good it is on swirls on a black car this weekend. I am thinking it is going to be just as good as their other products which is GREAT.

Z-PC didn't help my swirls by hand. I had to find more specific products, including a porter cable, pads, and Poorboy's products.

i've used meguiars nxt wax and wash and it turned out great. It's really hard to get a nice shine out of a yellow car but when I was done it was shining . I just bought some zaino, will try that next to see the difference.

Hey thanks Raptor2k for ruining all of the anticipation. Just joking.

I figured it was worth a try to use it and see what it can do. According to the guy I talked to at Zaino, it is what they suggest to use if Z-5 isn't doing anything. To be honest I think Z-5 is a waste, and that is the only product by them that I have not been pleased with.

Zaino doesn't polish out the swirls, it fills them in. If they're too bad to fill in you have to go the abrasive route and buff them out.

Yea. You might as well get rid of them, instead of just hiding them. The only regret I have from buying Zaino products is the ZPC.

You are missing

You are missing the finest, deepest, shinyest shine availble with not using Natty's blue Paste Wax. I will put it up to any wax on a properly prepaired finish. One that has be cleaned with a polish.
Wash, clay if needed, polish with Menzerna, Red Moose glaze, Natty's Blue Paste Wax, sunglasses. No wax or sealant will look good without the proper prep! If I were a Zanio fan I would use Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover first to clean and prep the paint!

There have been lots of great pics of Zaino'ed 8's on this board, but I think the one Genesis just posted is the most impressive I've seen yet!

I've used Zaino since 2001 when I had it on my Acura. I'm sticking with it. I actually need to buy some more; this thread reminded me.

Just took that pic. Looks like a good Zaino job, agreed?

Yes, people in Texas don't water their lawns during the winter.

Heh, that does look great! My Bermuda lawn is semi-dormant also. I water mine just to keep some clown from burning it up with their carelessly tossed cigarette.

I am no photographer

[QUOTE=Genesis]...check out this Zaino job on red....

Good picture. But I am no photographer (or speller) either, so is yours shiner than mine? Dunn't know or Dunn't care. There are lots of good waxes/sealants out there beside the ones tested here. Pinicle Souveran and Natty's Paste wax has to be included as two of the favorites on Autopia.org ... Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, Platinum Ultimate Paint Protection, Meguiars #16 Professional Carnauba Paste Wax (discontinued), and you can't leave out P21S Carnauba Wax. And for people who want to clean and protect in one step Klasse all-in-one (Acrlyic) has got to be near the top.

My conclusion as the best wax/sealant is the one you like the most and works for you.

You can't measure shine obviously... and yea, it depends on the camera and environment. The picture Genesis posted has a very rich and detailed environment...mine has a bunch of houses and a clear sky. Wax is wax...all the popular ones should be reliable enough to give you a good looking car.

Absolutely Raptor2k....in pictures, it all boils down to light, not wax

I have been using these two most recently and have been getting great results. I have used NXT in the past but I prefer these two over NXT. Zaino is a good product, but these are cheaper alternatives that take much less time to apply and require less coats than Zaino.

Turbo Wax

P21S Carnauba

Just used the P21S this weekend and thus far was great, bit of a pain on a Silver car as it is pretty much clear when applied to see. Also a bit expensive though so far worked very well. Washed, clay, 2 coats of the P21S paint cleaner, 2 coats of the Zaino polish, and 2 coats of the P21S wax and feels so good.

Both great products.

Warning though to those that use Zaino, the glass polish is great but leaves a very heavy amount of dust when you take it off. So be prepared to dust your car off and careful if using it inside the car, but works great once on.
