xylon coating....
hey guys, im new to this part of the forum....
anyway, today when i went to pick up my car after leaving it overnight to have new tires mounted, i went back & someone at the dealership told me i should have the car 'xylon coated', which will keep me from having to wax for 4 years, i just have to wash it. im pretty sure this is absolute BS, just trying to suck $400 outta my wallet, but i thought you experts might be able to give me details...i honestly dont understand how it works, it sounds just like a clearcoat. thanks.

thanks stealth. but what would a 'xylon coating' actually do? i know i sound ignorant, & i am...
its obviously a protective layering, but is it 'harder' than the other clear coat, making it less prone to scratches? my dad already committed to having the service done (without telling me, even though im the one who enjoys washing & waxing the baby...), having left the car there another day, so im just hoping it wont interfere with my waxing, i guess. as long as there are no 'consequences' besides the wasted money (cringing...), i'll live with it.
....& to think im in AP chemistry.....*sigh*
