Zaino difficulty

I was just browsing on the zaino site cuz i want to get some of the stuff once the weather gets bettter i was gonna get the 84 or 116$ package... but i was reading over some threads too and i dont know like... ANYTHING about waxing and detailing a car lol.... what exactly is buffing? do i need a machine for it or can it be done by hand too... is this gonna be difficult for an inexpierence person like myself? i am willing to put the time and effort into all of the work because i am yet another dedicated rx-8 loving owner... any tips suggestions pointers or anything would be appriciated.

All Zaino products are designed to BE DONE (applied/removed) by hand. Each product has easy to follow instructions.

Have you read this? It's not difficult, just time-consuming. If you want to learn how to professionally detail a car (and find all the products you need to do it), go to the How To section of Autopia.

If you have a garage, it's great stuff. I put the first coat of Z2 w/accelerator. Let it dry for 3 hrs. Buffed it. Then applied a second coat (it was 9pm). Let it sit overnight and buffed it out the next morning. I don't know of any wax that can sit that long on a hot August night. I love this stuff.

Sorry, I forgot one thing. Unfortunately I don't like their glass polish. It creates alot of white dust. This is a bit of a pain on a black car. After it's washed and polished, the last thing I want to do is dust it.

you really don't need either.

just buy two bottles of the zaino car wash, two bottles of the zaino polish, and two bottles of the zaino gloss spray. That will run you around $60, and last at least a year.

still not expensive. If you only buy one car wash, one polish, one gloss spray and a box of claybars, that's under $50 including shipping, and if you use it properly (meaning apply the recommended amounts), it will last you a very long time (we're talking 6 months+, maybe over a year depending on how much you wash your car).

If you zaino your car 3x when you first get the zaino, then do it every other month, or once a month, while washing your car every week, it will definately last over a year. With zaino you really don't need to do it more than once a month. In fact, you can go 4-6 months between zainoing because it really lasts that long (water will continue to bead). Most people want to do it more than that though.

True, but consider the gloss enhancer into the price, it's necessary.

Erm, ok, gloss enhancer (Z6)...my bad....but was referring to gloss conditioner (Z1 or ZFX)...you didn't mention that and it's very necessary.

Seems like we have seen this kind of thread many times before. The initial cost of Zaino APPEARS to be expensive, BUT, a little goes a long. long way and it lasts much longer than other products. Over time (the course of 2-3 years) Zaino will actually cost less than most waxes and polymers.

The other thing is this: You spend between 27k-34k for a car and you worry or complain about a $100.00 worth of shine/protection for it?

Go to the Zaino site and please READ everything on it. If you still can't decide, or feel the cost is too expensive, run down to your nearest Wal-mart, K-mart or local auto parts store and get a bottle of $3.00 Turtle wax.

Zaino can be found here: http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

That's where a California Duster comes in handy. :D

I zaino my 3months ago and the water is still beading like crazy. Its like I just did it. I was a big meguiars man before and that didnt even compare in my book to Zaino. The inital cost is nothing compared to the quailty of this product. It is well worth it IMO.

Lil,

If you'd just read the Zaino link that quack_p provided, all your questions would be answered.
