1 hour = 1 coat. I only use 3 Zaino products: Z5pro, ZFX, and Z6 detailer. Cloths are Sonus yellow waffle detailing towels.
Some waxes feel wet and slick smooth. The Zaino texture I have is dry, and butter smooth. It's the most difficult wax I have used to apply, but the easiest wax I have used to buff off.
Zaino products are between $10 and $15, not sure how people rack up $100s of dollars in Zaino at a time. I'm saving a little bit of money because the Z6 detailer lasts me longer than an OTC detailer, as the Zaino polish is slick and layered I can be more efficient with their detailer spray.

Car looks fabulous Jedi,, now if Mazda would do a better clear coat paint application you would really get the full effect of Zaino.
The thought of wet sanding my car has crossed my mind a few times ,just to get that orange peel surface off and give it a mirror smooth finish. But I didn't paint it so I don't know how thick the clear is.
Could be dangerous,,, ooops I sanded through the clearcoat
Then I could Zaino the heck out or it. MIRROR FINISH.

I saw a guy who actually wet sanded his new RX-8 and it came out AMAZING....BUT...even with all the years of experience he had, he still managed to go through the Clear coat while doing the hood.
Though the orange peel did drive me nuts at first, with all the zaino I have on it now (and with a year of ownership) I guess I've just gotten used to it and I dont' even see it any more.

@Jedi
My Zaino kit arrives today.
I have 24 microfiber towels (should be enough), and 2 microfiber mits (why did I buy these?).
Not sure how much time I'll be able to spend on Saturday, so, I'm going to get started earlier. Maybe even tonight.
I have a couple of questions.
1) Zaino's website highly encourages 100% cotton towels. Should I just buy the ones he recommends?
2) Why do I need the mits?
Also, I wanted to make sure I have the order of things correct.
1) Wash car w/ dish soap (Dawn) to remove loose dirt and any wax.
2) Zaino Z-18 Claybar
3) Zaino Z-7 Show Car Wash
4) Zaino Z-5 Pro w/ some ZFX additive for swirl marks.
5) Zaino Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray for super shine (wet-look)
6) Zaino Z-2 PRO Show Car Polish w/ some ZFX additive for shine.
7) Zaino Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray for super shine (wet-look)
I know I can do extra coats of Z-2 after applying Z-6, but I'll probably stick to one coat this week, and do a second before SS9.

Hey Cesar,
Towels:
-24 microfiber towels should be plenty to do your car. What size are they though? I like using large towels for removing the Zaino...did you get any that are at least 24x36?
- Zaino recommends cotten towels but I prefer microfiber because they tend not to leave any strands behind and they are generally better made to prevent against swirl marks. (100% microfiber > then 100% cotten because lots of those aren't really 100% cotton)
- Where did you get a mit? Are you referring to the "polish applictors" that are included in your kit? If so, yeah you'll need those for applying the zaino.
You mentioned that you might start tonight? What were you thinking of doing?
Jedi Zaino Tips: ( You've got the order down perfectly)
-When washing your car, make sure to have 2 buckets. One will have the Z-7 and the other should be filled with water. After cleaning each section, clean off the mit a little in your water bucket to prevent from just transferring dirt from one section of your car to another via your wash mit.
- When washing your car, do NOT listen to Mr. Miyagi!! For the hood, roof, and trunk section make sure to use perfectly straight 'back and forth' motions to avoid creating swirl marks. On the side of your car, you should be doing 'up and down' motions.
- When you claybar, make sure to have a clean spray bottle handy to lubricate the paint. Home depot spray bottls work great for this.
- Since you're only doing 1 coat of each, you'll probably need less then half of the little mixing bottle worth of Zaino. A little bit does go a long way with this stuff.
Hope that helped...

24 microfiber towels should be plenty to do your car. What size are they though? 16x16. All of them.
Where did you get a mit? Walmart

Yeah, if you Z5 and Z6 tonight, then we can just give it a quick wash Saturday and go straight to another coat of Z5 and Z2 if you want.
The 16x16 towels will do fine but just make sure to bring plenty of them with you.
Ready to start Zaino'ing? <--- my new word.

Zaino'd last night.
Here's what I did.
1) Wash car w/ dish soap
2) Zaino Z-18 Claybar
3) Zaino Z-7 Show Car Wash
4) Zaino Z-5 Pro
5) Zaino Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray
I'm tired. The claybar was the most work.
After I washed it the first time, I took a before picture.
Tonight, if I'm home, I'll take the same picture from the same prepective to show the difference.
My car was actually very shiney to begin with. I was very suprised when I looked at the picture I took.
Anyways, when it was all done, the car's surface was amazingly smooth.
I will most likely do a few more coats this weekend.

Ya, I'm happy. The smoothness is awesome. When I take the next pics, hopefully the shine will be obvious.
5pm washed/claybared - 2 hours
7pm washed/Z5/Z6 - 2.5hours
Total time - 4.5hours.
I took my time w/ the claybarring since I know that's the foundation for the whole process.

yup, put up some photos....nothing better than 6 shiney 8's sitting in a driveway...the looks we got from all the neighbors and people looking at the house for sale across the street Don't know if that made people happy or upset, to see us out there working on the cars.
My car is so smooth, I think my MPG increased....as well as my daily commute being 5 minutes shorter. I am getting more looks now...no joke.
