2004 BB w/ Rebuilt Engine
Year: 2004
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $7999
Mileage: 172000
Color: Brilliant Black
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): VA
- Reman Mazda engine with roughly 20k miles (rebuilt only to verify side seal clearances and to clean the ports up a bit)
- GReddy 32-way coilovers
- New Clutch and Mazdaspeed flywheel and counterweight
- Racing Beat headers
- Racing Beat REVi intake and air duct
- Mercury Marine coils
- Custom full Magnaflow exhaust from the headers back to include a Magnaflow hi-flo cat and muffler. Great sound and not over the top loud.
- 19" wheels with new Cooper rubber (less than 20k miles on the tires)
- AutoEXE fiberglass hood (this hood is over $1,000 to buy new)
- Tinted windows all around (including slight tint on front windshield).
- Sohn OMP adapter kit with custom oil resevoir (this allows the use of fresh oil from a secondary source instead of spending used engine oil in the OMP)
- New aluminum radiator
This setup made 194RWHP after engine break-in. The car has just been an extra vehicle around the house and a simple project, but my attention has turned to other projects at this time. The only known issues at this is the front speakers are not working and it did have an issue with the electric power steering sensor, but after cleaning the contacts it has been fine for several weeks without a hiccup. Must drive to appreciate.
I'm asking $8,500obo. The aftermarket equipment on this car alone is worth about $6,000. That doesn't include the reman engine core and rebuild! This car has at least $10k invested. It's just time to move on to other projects. I have owned and built countless rotary powered cars in the past, so don't hesitate to ask specifics about this car.
These are some photos (sorry for the black/white on most, I'll get some new ones if needed).
The car has the stock hood on it now. I also have stock wheels/tires and an unmarried Access Port tuner available with the car as well. Feel free to ask questions and make offers! If you ask around, there are some forum members who've seen the car in person and know the quality of the work performed.
This would be a great weekend warrior, auto-x or TT car.

Its ok - just clean your connectors... add some solder to the pins to get a more secure connection. Some people have even cut and soldered the wires together with no connector at all...

I should not even be looking, but have a few questions. Even if I don't buy it, others will appreciate the info.
- how's the interior: leather? cloth? and how's it holding up
- a/c operable?
- sunroof, windows, cruise etc (all the little electronic gizmos) operable?
- stock wheels: tire type and condition?
- condition of the coilovers?
- tranny smooth?
- do you have a price in mind with stock hood and stock wheels?
This would be a 3rd car, weekend & autox toy. Thus no use for hood or wheels (though they look GOOD, nice choice!). BTW I have low post count here but been around awhile
GLWS!!

New bump. Almost completed the turbo FB swap and have been daily driving this RX8 for a while now but really would like to see it gone to make room for when the FB comes home again.
PRICE DROPPED: $7,999
The interior is leather, good shape.. no tears, etc. AC still works fine. Electrically it all works minus the front speakers that I can recall. The stock wheels are in "ok" shape, but not mint.. tires are no good on them. Coilovers still feel good for their mileage, no leaks. Tranny is surprisingly smooth - when the motor was pulled to put the new one in, the trans looked almost new, but I have no records of it being replaced..
Hope that answers your questions..
