GI/TW: 2007 SS RX-8 - mild mods MS/endless/CE28's/etc - <- 8k mi
Looking for interested parties for my 8.
History:
I picked up the car late September '07 with 13 miles on the clock. After my FD blew up (due to a bad fuel pump), I chose the RX8 as a compromise between a daily driver and a "fun" car, and I honestly believed that it was the right choice for my needs. Since then, however, I've picked up a daily driver and it doesn't get driven as much as it should, so I'm looking for a project car instead. The car has never given me any issues, has decent mileage compared to some stories I've read on this board, and has been meticulously maintained. The oil has been changed 3 times in 7,5xx miles, and the 4th will be coming shortly. Water temp is monitored with a ScanguageII and has never even come close to overheating temps.
Idemitsu Racing rotary specific oil has been used since the first oil change, and I have always kept an eye on the oil level. Oil level has never been a problem - engine seems to sip oil modestly. Oil has been changed every <2k miles, 1800 on average.
There's really not too much else to be said, the car is in excellent condition inside and out, and I'm looking to sell it as is for the most part. There are no dents or door dings.
Basic facts about the car:
2007 Mazda RX-8 Touring edition
6-speed manual
Sunlight Silver
Moonroof
DSC/Traction control
LSD
OEM wing
Appearance package
Rotary accent package
Modifications:
Endless Function X coilovers - 30way adjustable and every adjustment counts! This is my second set of Endless coilovers (FD had a set) and the 4th set I've had a chance to ride in (FD, RX-8, Prelude, S2000), and despite the price - they will be my first choice for any future cars! The ride is comfortable and not ridiculously harsh for daily drives, but a few clicks and you're ready for the track! Here is a link to Rishies initial review on them
Mazdaspeed Front/Rear strut bars
Tanabe front/rear sway bars with energy suspension mounts
SMB Full exhaust - Includes SMB's metallic substrate high flow cat. I realize SMB is not as well known to the RX8 community than it is in the FD community, but it's worth noting that I had the same (relative) setup on my FD and love the sound and performance enough to pick up their RX8 setup. There is absolutely no droning on the streets/highways but the sound is damn near orgasmic when you get on it. Video/Audio clips available on request.
K&N drop in filter - I had the K&N typhoon but the noise got to me! This has proven to be just as good as the K&N typhoon really does just suck in hot air, according to my scangauge. Average Air intake temp with the typoon was 115deg F on a 70deg day. The stock setup with reads, on average 10-15deg above ambient air temp.
Corner balanced - The car has also been corner balanced by Blacktrax, weighing in at 52%/48% front biased with driver, with a half tank of gas. Car weighed in at 2935 without driver.
Wheels/tire:
Volk Racing CE28's in special order color "Mecury Silver" - 18x8.5+40, 18x9.5+42
absolutely no rubbing, tires are BFG KDW2's in 235/40/18 and 265/35/18
If you're a regular on this forum, you should know these tires are worth 2k+ easily. I absolutely love these wheels - couldn't have asked for much better. The overall price on the car is negotiable if interested parties do not wish to take these.
Performance components have been left mostly stock as the engine is just soo smooth as it is, I didn't want to take that away. The suspension components really compliment the car and simply enhance what the car already does best, if I had to start over, I'd do it the exact same way.
As it stands the car also has a set of Endless Brake calipers on stock rotors, which will not be included with the car. I am asking $26,000 with everything mentioned above (again, EXCLUDING caliper).
Please feel free to PM/email me with any questions.
