Trade 2001 BMW M Coupe for RX-8 plus cash
I'm looking for a newer low mileage manual transmission RX-8 with cash in exchange for my S54 2001 BMW M Coupe.
315HP and 252 pound-feet of torque in a 3100 pound car with a short wheelbase is a lot of fun but I need a more practical 4 seater car.
Manual transmission
49 000 miles, 100% stock aside from brembo brakes and hawk pads.
I'm in Montreal, Quebec
for your viewing pleasure, Jeremy Clarkson seems to love this car just as much as he does the RX-8:

I'm asking 31 000$ for the car

Wow, I was just looking earlier at these cars, seem squirly in the turns but tons of fun! I've got an '05 Pearl White Grand Touring w/27,000mi 18x9.5 enkei rpf1's w/toyo t1r's (~40% left), mazdapseed springs/shocks, mazdaspeed cai, and either RP supercat+HKS hi flow exhaust or new stock cat+stock exhaust.
Is it stick? Also, how much $$ would it cost to register a Canada car in Cali and vice versa Haha just thought I'd entertain the idea.

It costs 2.5% tax on the federal level and I think whatever your state charges you afterwards, you'll have to check with your DMV.
This might be useful: http://www.willz.ca/importcanadatousa.htm
It's really easy for you guys, you don't have to leave the car at the border like we have to
Your car seems nice, I'm interested.

Good Lord! I will if you are in the Vancouver area, I'd do a straight trade with you right now! I've been looking for an S54 M Coupe for a billion years! Grrr..... 2006 GT with 2500km. Yes I hardly drive my 8.
Why are you getting rid of it out of curiosity?

Plus it is a very rare car and driving it during the winter will not do any good for its value and I don't want to drive some kind of winter beater. I also would like a 4 seater car very badly as stuffing people in the trunk is getting old:D
As for your car I can ship mine to Vancouver and you can ship yours to Montreal, it would be fairly easy since we both have Canadian cars!

If the car is worth a certain amount, you will get that amount, regardless of what people say/think, it will just take patience to reach that prime sales figure. (as I'm sure you know)

I just sold my '01 Z3 Coupe w/ 47K to pick up an '05 RX8 with 4K.
Was a good move. BMW warranty just ran out and it was starting to run big $$ for little things. I loved the car though.
Good luck with the sale.
