OD, That's what it was on mine. Sutherlin replaced it last week (they rock). spray free now. They mentioned it's okay to drive on as it won't usually get worse, but needs to be taken care of while you have warranty still. It's a one day job assuming they have the parts. I would also bring up the whine you state you have in a couple gears and see if that can be resolved as well and at the same time, see if they will help you save the labor $'s and replace the clutch while they have the tranny out anyway.......just my .o2

They will have the GT cars out with the ST cars both days. Saturday will be the best day to ask them about the GT cars since they won't be stressing over the race that day.

Now we just need to stop getting hit during the races and we'll be good...

Order your tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your patience y'all. I am pleased to announce the availability of discounted tickets for this event courtesy of the Georgia RX8 Club.

Here are the instructions...

Go to the ticket purchase page at https://www.southtix.com/grandam-tickets.html

You will see the page pictured below:

In the password field type in carclub07 and then "enter"

You will be taken to the following page:

From the drop down box, select "RX8 Club - Georgia", then order your tickets. Don't forget the Paddock Pass. That is free instead of $10. Itg allows you access to the paddock so you can check out all your favorite race teams like ROAR Racing and Speesource.

So, by purchasing your tickets through the GA RX8 Club as described above you get free parking in the corral (and you save $10 which is a huge % off the total ticket price). If we sell the most tickets, we get free parade laps for the club so lets upstage the BMW boys.

Feel free to link this post on the RX7Club and other Mazda forums. Let's represent Mazda!

Question for those that have been before, or ordered. I went thru and ordered just one ticket now w/parking and corral - 53$ total. My conf says "Your SouthTix confirmation # is - - 2 ticket(s) for Grand Am Cup, Rolex Sports Cars on Fri-Sun Jul 20-22"
So do I have 2 tickets or one?

might be two, one for saturday, and one for sunday. I can't remember, but I think that is how it worked last year, and something around $50 sounds right.

TA, can I invite a group from my local autocross region? Can they register with the GARX-8 club club or would you like them to go general admission?

HI Lego - invite as many as you want. have them get the tickets with the discount. If we sell the most tickets we get free parade laps for the club. WooHoo.

Confirmation email says 3 tix (even thos it's just me and Mrs. Gimlet for Sat. only). I'm going to assume the extra is the parking pass....perhaps that's the same for you DB -

that could be the case. I dunno. I will be ordering mine sometime next week. No real rush, and the longer they sit in my office at home, the longer they have a chance to get lost. I had to search for them last year, not gonna do that again.

Didn't think about the parking pass - that makes sense.

if you want, try to get a room at the UAB Courtyard in Birmingham, right now the rest of us that have rooms are there.

FYI:

1. I'll be orgainizing a Apexi Power FC seminar for 20 or so RX7 guys this weekend. So, there will be quite a few hardcore rotorheads and we are wanting to come to this race.

2. I'll be taking pics and such for the MazdaSport Magazine.. So, I would like to get a nice group shot.

Can someone let me know when you guys are going to be at the track and if we are going to have a parking area like last year?? If so, please post so that I could schedule the tuning seminar accordingly.. Please PM me just in case.

Herblenny,

I suspect that most of our group will be there for Saturday. Only a few will be staying for Sunday. As for car corral parking, yes, we have that setup, anyone who wants to park down there, needs to buy tickets through our club deal, the directions for that are listed here in the thread. Anyone who buys their ticket through that offer, will be able to get a car corral parking pass.

If you have any other questions, or want to coordinate anything, please feel free to PM me, I will be there for all of the fun, on both days. You can also PM TrackAddict, as he is the one who deals with the fine folks over at Barber.

L8, did you get your room for Fri/Sat or just Sat? I have Fr and Sat - was planning to drive over after lunch on Fri. Again, if work times allow.

I booked my room only for Saturday night, I am going to drive over on Saturday morning, that is how I have done it in the past, and it seems to work out well. And saves $$.

Thanks L8!

As of now, 20 rotorheads have signed up for the Apexi Tuning session.. Not sure how many of them will be in a rotary car...

But as now we are going to be at the track from 9am til 12PM, have lunch, then goto the seminar...

Do you guys want to meet up for dinner somewhere on saturday??
