If I remember right there is even a special mention prohibiting suction cups mounts of any description

I looked into it last year specifically for the possibility of an outside camera. And bolted-on lipstick camera were about the only viable solution

Edit: Things may have changed, this year's CCR does not have any mention specifically against suction cup mounts, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask..

Half way through the weekend and I am tired as hell. Early nite tonight for sure. Today was another good day. I had fun working with my students. One guy is in a 2004 330ci. That's a smooth riding well handling machine. It has great power and a very good suspension. the driver had 4 DEs at RA under his belt but still had a hard time finding the line and driving it consistently. My other student was a total novice in a 98 328i with an M3 motor. It could flat out boogie. By our 4th session he had learned a lot. Tomorrow should be interesting.
I am really loving the new shocks. I highly recommend them if you don't want to mess with "the ****" (aka adjustable shocks). Torqueaholic sold them to me and was very easy to do business with despite his ugly *** car.
The track has developed excellent grip. Next weekend is gonna rock!

Silver - thanks for the pics. You like my front negative camber???

TA, I got excited today when I saw you at the track and attending the drivers meeting. I was ready to go get in my car and head to the hot pits. But when Phlash posted the message about the schedule and I started looking it over, I think I made a wet spot! I can't wait till next weekend.

Haven't read the rules in awhile, and can't remember which group allows what. That is why I made it a dual set up, So when I have it on the roll bar it is bolted and thethered. Thanks.

TA - so is the Peachtree guys worth trying?

What a day for a slacker to hang out at the track! Caught two rides with instructors, the honorable and always handsome, TrackAddict and an ugly duckling RX-7 driven by Rob. Thanks TA for the ride. Nice set-up for next weekend.

The RX-7 has a 5 liter Mustang engine. Those of you that went to CMP this February are familiar with Rob's car. What a thrill to take turn 4 with the *** end drifting out and you have not lived until your ride in turn 12 and 1 with the *** moving out in those long sweeps. Rob has great control and kept me wondering if I had my life insurance paid up. I kept wondering what it was going to be like when we crashed but he did a great job of smoothing out the corners. He had street tires on an overpowered bare bones light body. Coming down the front straight we were 3 wide with Rob passing everyone and then I got a face full of water spray... not good! he had to slow down, let the car cool down and pit early as the engine was overheating and it sounded like it was missing a couple cylinders.

The touring laps were almost too much for me to handle as I REALLY wanted to get it on. The track is really smooth and there are those strange little imperfections in the asphalt that you will notice but nothing really unsettled the car at the speeds I was able to obtain. Tire squeal is more prevalent now but just feels like the car is telling you it's happy.

I could have gotten much more. Jeff gave me 1.9 in front and I kept the rear at 2.0
I have zeroed out the toe up front and have .06" per side in the rear which is a bit more than I had before. I still push on corner entry

I think so MD. They do 3 events per year at RA. I plan on doing them again. The event was very well organized. Honestly I have more fun at a NASA weekend. But this was good. Since there was no racing, I found myself on track A LOT and not many breaks.

Lots of people have come down with a gastro intestinal bug, including my wife. I've managed to not get it and I DON'T WANT IT! After Sunday I will accept the misfortune of acquiring it if I do but please, please, please... not now! I'm feeling great now and I want to keep it that way.

So, Lego, how's the skin healing? Hope the blistering has cleared and you’re able to spend the night with the wife again.

Talked to Lego last night - he is taking Athletic performance enhancing drugs! Not sure if he will be able to drive if NASA does a drug test. Although he has a good excuse for using them, his Poision Ivy came back and they gave him more steriods to get rid of it.

Oh crap! Hope he's going to be fine this weekend. If someone needs to jack up their car, it might be quicker to just let lego lift it.

Well, my issue arose again yesterday. My dose pack of steriods ran out of Sat (I felt good that day and worked on the car for hours with Mike and another friend). Thanks again Mike. On Sunday, I relapsed again and the stuff started to pop up where I hadn't had it before: hands, leg, clear part of the arms, and then then my hands started to swell again. My right hand got to be so bad that when I make a fist, you could only see one knuckle.

Went back to the doctor, they said the steriod pack was too short and now I have a longer supply. Got another shot in the *** my a nurse who commented, (that didn't go in far enough" and then pushed it more before injecting it. Now I have to sit leaning again to the right. The good thing is that the prescription benedryl type medicine is making me really drowsy and I'm seeing rotors fly around in the air. Maybe that is a good sign. I hope I feel better before the weekend. It took a couple days to clear up with I started on the medicine last time. Today is MUCH better than yesterday. I may go into work this afternoon, if the rotors stop spinning.

I am trying to get to bed early this week and save up extra sleep for the weekend. (That's a bit tough in Vegas though)

The car is ready, I got:

-Fresh Transmission fluid
-Fresh Coolant
-Fresh Oil
-Fresh Carbotech Pads (They ROCK!)
-New backing plates to securely and correctly mount my brake cooling hoses to the spindles
-New Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter -- > Short throws / ZERO slop

Best setup yet we'll see how shoe goes down the new track surface..

Carbotech is the bomb dude! Great pads, you will enjoy them.
Starting to REALLY get excited now. Havent had track since last october--man.
Cany wait to see if the hoosiers are that much better than the ra1's. Car is running great. Love my new impact wrench---(even sounds like a real "pit" now!) and my old joints appreciate it.
if a am sleeping in my car (and I am) it looks as if I better bring a low temp sleeping bag.
This time I didnt put the spacers on my front brake pads. Should cool a little better.
Wish we had 4 sessions instead of 3.
Lego --hope you are feeling better man--that stuff can make you miserable. I was on high dose steriods one time after a martial arts tourament and subsequent injury (Hell it was worth it--I won!) and i was so damn emotionally labile that for no reason I just started crying at the breakfast table--facting like a woman on her cycle-- Think I rather hurt. Ate like a horse also.
2 more day (dul) and i will be leaving for the track. Leaving around noon from Macon--what time is everyone arriving?
