Just got a note from Julie. Friday session has been cancelled due to repaving being behind schedule.

-----------

We found out today that due to the repaving at Road Atlanta they are behind
schedule and forcing NASA to cancel the Friday event in March. It does not
affect the Sat/Sun, just cancels the instructor clinic completely.

------------

I was signed up for the instructor clinic, but now we've got a problem.

Just planning on bringing the gray one for now. Don't want to say anything about the Roar cars until after Daytona.

Wish I had some time to go to the 24. I'll be watching on Speed. How many cars will you have running this time?

I got an email as well. At first I thought they were just trying to tell you something since I didn't get one. Now I am uninvited as well.

does this mean we will be the 1st group to run this new track? That would be good in one way and tricky in the next.

We will have two cars entered into the Koni Challenge Series ST class, #62 and #63. We may get the third car back out by mid year depending on how we do along the way. We have some RX-8 club members helping us out for the race at Daytona. We have a great crew, great cars, and great drivers. Needless to say we are expecting some good results.

Anyone coming to the race please come by and say hello.

MazdaratiRob - Saw you guys at VIR and came over to say hi - yet your crew said you where out on track at that time. Are you going to start doing more Chin events?

Lego - I think it depends for the new track if the new surface will be stickier, I think OD is right. I think the main advantage is that it will be consistant, rather than having those concrete patches all over the place, thus I think we will enjoy it so much more!

That really sucks about Friday - oh well. And if they think one day will make a difference on a large job that they are undertaking, I have a feeling that there is a risk this event may be canceled.

I tend to agree with you MD. One day can't make that big of a difference when we are this far out from the event. They probably have a contract date the construction company is bound to and they are taking every single second they have to work with.

There are events scheculed before the NASA one--wonder what they are doing? For those of us that have not driven on new track surface----it makes a world of differance. You are going to be faster--driving the same that you have been. You will find yourself at faster entry speeds-really not noticing it--so adjustments will have to be made. We are not slow out there --so I suggested the first few laps drive only 75% or so. I found this out at Roebling when we drove it's new surface. It is an adjustment. I fun one but something to take seriously.
I am going to be on hoosiers for the 1st time--so i will be slow to start with. ANyone know what kind of neg chamber those tires like. current I am at 1.9 up front and 1.7 in the rear.

I have never had hoosiers, but Toyo suggests -2 to -5 for the RA1's. My guess would be that the Hoosiers would be similar. I have a tire pyrometer and we can use it at RA and see.

OD - no problem, let me know about the pyrometer and I can help as it is best done with two people.

As for Tracqmate, I was looking at one last night to buy. You guys must have been reading my mind. My friend that drives at Chin learned a lot from it and he now drives a different line around Sebring from it. He dropped 10 seconds a lap from it since he found that many turns he could turn in earlier than he was. I would be up for buying one - just don't know how it would work for a group of us?

I would be more interested in buying one with Lego since he live 10 min from my house, that way we can hand it off when one or the other does a different event. Lego - want to go in together for one?
