Air Conditioning Performance

I am interested in the performance of RX8 air conditioning. I will be driving the car in FL (and up north in the summer). I have heard that the AC is a little weak, but I don't know if that pertains to the latest (2007) models I am considering. Your experiences will be appreciated!

care to explain wat the a/c line mod is and wat an a/c reprogram is.
my a/c is useless for the 1st 15 mins in the city...on the hwy i can get cool in bout 5 mins...but if im with 2-3 other people in the car it gets pretty bad...almost to the point where i prefer not to take my car.

Keeping the cover closed on the moonroof helps a lot too, even though the glass is tinted it lets in a lot of heat. My a/c can't keep up on hot days with the cover slid back.

Also, reinsulate the interior with something like dyno mat.

Do the console, then heat shield from underneath the car.

Also the cupholder mod could help, but I don't know the long term effects.

Which is probably what you were talking about LOL

I haven't done any of those quick DIY AC mods, and I live in South Florida and the ac is pretty good. Usually I turn it to 3/4 for 5 or 10 minutes then I can drive 2-3 in the day, and 1 at night. My car usually sits outside in the sun and the ac keeps me pretty cool. The one that is a pain though is that the steering wheel gets insanely hot because it is made out of leather, and the aluminum rotary **** ontop of the shift **** gets extremely hot too. I usually have to wear gloves in the day because it burns my hands.

Tint your windows and use a sunshade. Mine is in the sun all day as well and no real issues with steering whell or ****. It's not that hot and my A/C works fine.
