I would highly doubt that there are any RX8's in Cuba. I was there in 1996 (I still have family there), and the only cars I saw were American cars from before the US embargo, some Soviet-era cars, and a small number of I think Japanese cars that were used as cabs for tourists. Not to mention that access to the internet in Cuba is restricted.

You should definitely talk to some of the people that maintain their old American cars from the 50's. They have pretty much no access to parts, so they have to be pretty ingenious to keep them running. You'd probably get to hear some great stories.

i can tell you for sure there's no rx-8's there... and i can almost say for sure there are no cars newer than 1970 (except a 2 or 3 of the wealthiest in havana and the ones at gitmo)... my dad goes atleast once a year on missions trips their(he was also born there) and most of the people outside of havana live on next to nothing... other than that, i am cuban and own an 8, but i'm in huntsville, al... so no help to ya

When I was there in '96 there were some Soviet cars that were made much later than 1970. One of my relatives there is a doctor, and the govt gave him one of these cars, Moscovich is what they called them. The funny thing with that car was that the right hand door stuck out a little, and I heard that the same guy installed all the right hand doors slightly wrong, so it's the same on all the cars of that model. It have just been a joke, but it's still a good story.
