Well, I almost lost my baby this morning. I was sitting at the intersection of Grants Mill and Overton Road, when 2 big trucks collided and slid to within 2 inches of my front bumper. I dont know how the one truck managed to steer away from me, but I thanked him profusely (after I about pooped my seat!) It all happened so fast...I saw it coming and tried to get it into reverse, but by then it was over. OMG. What a Monday. Thank you Mazda god.

Sounds like you had a close call this a.m. L-Co....I'm glad you and your 8 are ok. You never know what might happen on the early morning commute. I've personally avoided several wrecks during my 2 years of ownership, all of which happened in the early hours of the day

Glad to hear that you and the 8 made it out with out a scratch!! That is one reason I like living in smaller place, less traffic but you still have the drunks out in the am around here!!

New Engine

Hey guys....Trussville Mazda totally fucked up my car...I needed a clutch so i decided to go ahead and upgrade the clutch and flywheel.........something went wrong....when they drove it....a little washer or something from the set tool..came off and punched a hole in the engine.....so now i need a new engine. However they have been nice about and replacing my act clutch and act prolite flywheel.........all free of charge.......I am nervous about them even able to do the work. I pray for better results this time around.

I'm sure they'll make a point to get things right this time around, but that does really suck. They are about the best service dept. in the bham area IMO... It's not very often that you hear about them screwing up...

Misterwilson: the pics look like a lot of fun! Thanks for posting them

Knowledge: sorry you are having a bad time at Tville Mazda. Sounds like they're trying to make it right.

Everyone! I guess it is about time to get together again! Do we want to do another Wednesday or Thursday night? If we do it next week, Wednesday would be better for me.

Maybe On The Border (mexican) which is at the Summit, or TGI Friday's worked pretty well back in May. I'm game for whatever.

Miss it...

Hi gang! The move went fairly smooth, and all cars are sporting Mississippi tags. The job is ok, just hate being the "new guy" at my age! So far, in just over two months, I've seen exactly one RX8 (and one MR2), not including mine. The only Mazda dealer here closed several years ago, so the nearest dealers are at least 90 minutes away.

Lift a glass to me when y'all hook up, and I'll try to make a gathering on one of the trips back....

Ron

Hey Ron! Good to hear from you. Maybe you'll meet some fellow owners soon.

Is anyone else interested in dinner Wednesday or do we need to shoot for another time? I know Screamin' said he couldnt come, and Misterwilson was in. Anyone else?
