Sighting report: saw a white RX8 going south on I-55 between Batesville and Southhaven in north Mississippi. Anybody here? This is only the third '8 I've seen since moving over here. The last one before this was one going past my neighborhood at full throttle, about two weeks ago. Sounded great, but was dangerous.....

OK folks! The weather is getting warmer and that means it's time to get together for a drive. I'd love to join the Jack Daniels trip on the 17th, but my puppy is getting neutered the 15th and I cant leave him for that long. Anyone else have any local ideas?

I can't make Saturday the 17th. Wasn't this originally set for the 10th?

Some of the 7 owners are going to Dyno day at Walker Dyno in Trussville, Saturday March 24th.

There will be several high HP piston and one rotary car..

We'll meet around 11AM and then head to lunch and come back to watch Hinson run his 1200HP LS1 twin turbo FD RX7.

it was originally the 10th, but we could only get 2 cars from here to go, the rest of us had business trips and family ties that we couldn't get away from. so we pushed it back a weekend. sorry you can't make it! we'll plan another drive for next month hopefully more of our b'ham brothers and sisters will be able to make it!

btw... if ya'll wanna come this weekend, please do!

dont mean to hi jack this thread but...

The BMW Club is having a track day at Barber the weekend of May 26/27. There are a few openings left. It is an awesome track and you should get lots of track time. I'll be there in my 8 instructing. It would be great to have some fellow rotaries out on track.

Also there is a track event this Saturday May 19th at Talladega Gran Prix with the Atlanta Mustang club. They are looking for people to fill some spots and it should be $150 for the day. Which is super cheap track time.

Email ronsandy@comcast.net for info on the TGPrix event.

With BMW you can expect 4 sessions per day each one 25 - 30 minutes long. That does work out to be an exhausting day.

Since there seems to be more talk/experience about tracking over hear opposed to the rx7 board, I would like to get some of ya'll opinions. I'm probably going to be needing new track tires before BMW next weekend, and I was looking at getting the Nitto NT01s. My wheels are 17x8" front and 17x9" rear. My main problem is the 255/40 is on backorder, I was going to go 235/40F and 255/40rear.

Now my options are 235/40 or 245/45 Front, and 245/45 or 275/40 rear. I would like 245's and 275's but I wish the 245's were 40series and I'm not sure how sluggish the 275 will feel on a 9" wheel. What do ya'll think is the best thing to do?? Or I could get Toyo's again.

Thanks
Chris
