I'm not sure if I'm selling the car yet. I'm seriously considering it. The only problem is I am WAAAY too upside down on the loan right now. I'm gonna take it in to a different dealership, minus the mods this time (I'll still be selling my intake, midpipe, and catback, so if you guys are interested let me know). I called and the guy said he'd do his best to take care of me. I could hear the "holy ****" in his voice when I told him this was the second time my tranny went down. I told him that I basically needed to know the likelyhood of this being covered, because I just dropped 1100 on it + 700 for the flywheel and install ONLY 1 MONTH AGO!! and I could not afford it again right now.
*sigh* I'm at my wit's end.

Man that is tough. I would just be careful to make the car look like grandma's as much as possible. If it looks like you have been running it as hard as you have (tires/tranny/mods) then you are gonna have a tough time getting them to touch it.
Honestly, I would probably keep the car and put $$ into it as the best financial option. Selling when you are upside down just sucks. The transaction costs are not worth it in addition to the lost. Re-invest and change the driving habits bro.........you gotta know the limitations as this car aint nearly as spunky as it looks when it comes to driving it like a performance car.
I would be sure that if you do get the tranny fixed, make sure they got through everything carefully to make sure it is in good as new condition. I would not want some other lingering problem to come up later. Good luck.

FREE ADVICE!
Greetings fellow Floridians. I was just reading your thread and gotta tell ya something I tried from another thread.
In regards to the BUGS, they're bad up here too (Jax), though probably not as bad as Alligater Alley. Anyways, someone mentioned to just put a paper towel on the front after you've driven and spray it down with WATER (yup...water). Leave the wet paper towel over bug splats for 15 minutes or so, then simply wipe off! Trust me, there's no bigger skeptic than myself, but I tried it and I'll be darned if it didn't work! I'm saving a fortune on Bug-n-Tar romover.
Anyway...thought I'd share with my buddies to the south.
Also...sorry about your car Paradigm. Hope things work out for ya.
:D

hey thanks for that tip - I'll try it. Brought my RX-8 into WPB Mazda today for the first oil change and some warranty work. Ray's a great guy - the list was a mile long. Got my loaner - told him to keep in a day or so (but not much longer cause I miss it already) and asked him how much for a clean and detail - I figured let them clean the bugs off. When I heard $125 I said - hmmmm - I'll take care of it. So - first thing I'll try is that tip. They gave me a loner Nissan XTerra SUV - BORINGGGGGGGGG - I'm so missing my car - boo hoo

If you brought it to City Place Mazda they would have given you a Mazda Six. Plus I took it in for and oil change and tire rotation, and they washed and vacuumed her for free. I dont work for them, but they have been good to me so far.

Well gotta say - got my car back today and they did a great job. Did the wash - in and out - for free after all. Not only did the oil change, the recall for the airbag and the mile long list of the and that - they did the reflash, found where the bushing were missing from the bottom of the engine cover (no wonder it was so loose) and I'll be damned if I don't feel a real difference in the car's performance. Maybe I'm just so happy to be out of the SUV - lol - but it feels tighter in the front end, handles much better, much quieter and alot - and I mean alot - more power and smoother shifting (automatic triptronic - least we forget). So far- totally happy with Ray at WPB Mazda. I gave him the website and our thread. I can breathe easier again. Hope you're all having a great weekend. I was liking the look of the Mazda 6 wagon - anyone have any experience with it?

Update...
The tranny didn't make it today, but it is coming, so I may not have my car for the weekend.
Picosrx8........My girlfriend and I should be free this saturday. She broke her wrist pretty bad last week so she's really not feeling the orlando trip. Call me up and maybe we can figure something out. Jon @ 561-248-6747

Great news on the car Jon - we would've missed you badly. The cars been driving oh so good since the reflash - is it psychological? Funny thing - I mentioned that the a/c didn't blow consistant cold air and I was wondering if anyone else had complained. Ray said he noticed it too when he took one home for the weekend. Today I see a service bulletin for just that complaint so I guess I'll be finding time to get it in again because it gets too hot. I second that emotion - Jon - slow the f**k down - lol - I had too now you should too - lol. Did everyone see that very cool Happy Birthday Deb announcement on the Orlando website? It totally blew me away and felt good to be 29 again - lol

What happened to the meet? I thought this thread was started so that we can setup a meet. I was unable to make the Orlando meet because I had to work. Anyone want to setup a meet in S. FL?

SunFest this weekend in WPB - hard weekend to get together. Riding shotgun with my son in his Neon so I can get trashed and not worry about driving - see I'm responsible (sometimes). Good thing he's home from Gainesville for the summer - lol. We've already begun the "I'm taking the RX" negotiations.
