Yep --heads and cam go together(dont forget compression--going to be under 11--right?)
If you get REALLY serious about it--- get the cylinders honed using torque plates AND a warming systen. The block needs to be at running temp and torqued down to get the bore true---that can equal 25hp--believe it or not. I am probably preaching to the choir here--sorry--its just fun to speak big block every now and then

yeah, this one has been all over the map, gone back, and then moved on to something else. It has not been about the track event for pages on pages. it has multiple personalities, including the ones posting.

PBOC started a new run group at Homestead this past weekend. It's a pass anywhere/wave is optional group. You got to qualify (instructor, licensed racer, or sufficient experience). Safety gear requirement is stepped up as well: cage, harnesses in date, fire suit etc. I'm still in the baby-solo group.

This past summer at Sebring, the instructor who signed me off gave me a ride-along in his p-wagon GT3. The braking and corner speeds were mind-boggling. There's some competiition for you down there for you, David

Winterfest: 4 days at Sebring

for the 2007 Grand Am Race we need to get you and a lot of the other Florida 8'ers to come up for it. We had a really good showing for 2006, but I knwo we can do better next year. We need to outnumber the BMW's.

TA has a count but I do believe the number was in the 55 range. We had a huge group and a huge blast. The weather did get interesting swoope but it wasn't that big of a deal. You guys plan on it next year.

I know we had between 23-25 8's in the Car corral on Saturday, accompanied by a few 7's and a Miata. The number of tickets sold is deceiving, since not everyone buying a ticket drove, there were some car poolers.

We also had a few of us stay over for Sunday, but not many, I think there were 4 of us. Sunday the weather sucked at first, but got better as the morning progressed. it was worth it.

I can't wait to do it again in 2007.

Please dont get David started , he loves GT3 's .David tell the guys about the story of the GT3 at RA , He was the man until Sunday when his world came to a stop on the warm up lap . Trust me ! unless its a pure race car , no chance in keeping up with David , Dave eats them for a snack. Get him to tell the story!

Hey, I just like talking about driving and cars. I used to fly remote control airplanes and one of them had a rotory motor in it. Can I still hang out? David

I will see if I can dig up one of my old RC mags and get a pic. What is unreal is they make 4 stroke engines with valves, radial, and turbine engines with afterburners. The turbine sounds just like a jet on a fly by. David

Yea David hang out with us --who else can I speak big block too? SO you were into RC? I was also , but on the ground. Used to race the little cars that would haul ***--both electric and gas. I had a run a way one time and I got a lot of people very excited--it was hilarious---now. At the time it wasn't--Mom's grabbing their small children up and jumping onto cars and such and we didnt know what to do. Then a redneck waited until it was clear and shot the damn thing with his 12 gauge. Race day----over---and I wasn't invited back.
Yea --it is an interesting thread---only in America!

Yea, I have about 5 planes that are in my storage building. An F16 ducted fan with retractable landing gear. I t has a .91 engine, turns 28000 rpm and puts out 5.5 hp which produces about 12 lbs of thrust. I have a stunt plane called a G Shark witch has a 84" wing span and swings a 20"prop. Those are my favorites. Not to change the subject, but I think TGPR is having an open house in Jan. to open up the new track and I think its going to be a two day track event. I will try to get the date. David

I'd really love to do TGPR again. Especially the new layout. That's where I lost my track virginity!
