yes, and yes. I am a twit, and my car does need a new nose, it has been broken for months now. I am afraid that the one I want, might make it a little too low, and that would hurt bad, to drop that kind of cash on a new nose, and then smash the hell out of it on a speed bump.

and I may be a twit, but you are still old.

I'm holding off on doing any body mods till we get into our new building. We have some serious speed bumps in our parking lot right now and the new building should not have any. Then we'll see what I can get away with. I still have to deal with a gravel drive at home so that may mean I still can't do anything.

asshat!

It is an interesting thread, it changes all the time. Seems to have a varied theme on a daily or maybe weekly basis.

Where's OD? It belonged to him for a while. Guess we need to talk about pistons, Hurst shifters, Cherry Bombs or Holley 4 Barrels to get him back.

Did anyone flush out their exhaust with water so they would rust out and be louder? Did it in a 68 Pontiac LeMans.

Did someone say Hurst shifters!!!! Holley 4 barrells!! I- I- I- I- < feel funny like all warm inside--ohhhhhhh.
Oh well damn--remmember those olf T type shift handle for those Hurst shifters? They made a real good improvision for Brass knuckles( thats the way disputs were settled in the old days.)!
Use to take a clothes hanger wire and tie back the secondary throttles on the old holleys so all 4 barrels were open all the time.I was probably running a little rich. Spray water on your spark plugs wires to see if they arc'ed. if they did it was time to replace. Ahhh the memories. Thanks alk for that small walk down the lane. Now back to reality to see what the hell is going on with our fuel system--we are getting there guys.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!!!

I did drill out the ports on my carberator and couldn't be seen without an STP sticker on the bumber. Also had to have larger tires on the back. The farm boys always had the coolest cars like the Mach 1, Chevelle, Charger, Judge, Nova, 442 and Z28. Those bastids! Us city boys had cars like VW's, Comet's, Falcon's and Galaxy's. I eventually was able to drive my bro's LeMans when he went into the Airforce and later baught a 1970 Celica which was a babe magnet.

my 2 cars were a
1-57 chevy convertable--with a 283 4 barrel,and a hurst 3 speed shifter . leaked in the rain and cold in the winter THEN a
2- 55 chevy 2 door post(more rigid body than the sport) with a 396 rat motor , aluminum heads(oval ports big valves).solid lifter cam, Jardine headers, solid state ignition, 11.5 compression ratio,(no a/c, no power steering), heavy duty clutch(forget the brand), a close ratio muncie 4 speed(2:20-1st gear), 4:11 diff, added leaf springs, monroe drag shocks, cut front springs, narrow tractor tires on the front, american mags, cheaters on the back, short traction bars, full gauges, removed the front bumper, dual short thrush cherry bomb type mufflers, ***** house lights for the interior, vacumn windshield wipers that didnt work going up a hill, and stock brakes. She would turn in the 11's at the strip and this was in 1969. The only problem is I couldnt stop the damn thing. AH the days. I never lost a race with that car(unless I broke something--usually a universal joint). Now look at us.

OD, you gotta have some pics! Sounds like too much fun not to have something to show for. I loved that Hurst 3 speed. That's what the 350 LeMans I drove had in it from the factory.

you know what Silver---I sold that car the week before I went to Vietnam for $600.My Daddy almost cried. I was a fool. Sold it to Anthoy Butler who dropped the engine into a Camaro running a Gas class at the strip and he ended up winning the SE champsonship with it.
Maybe it's time to rebuild my teenage dream--could be dad/son project. Hmmmmm
maybe.

OD, that is a really cool idea. He would NEVER forget the time you spend with him, not just the car.
