Oh oh, STF is going to the 2 wheel side.. I guess if you were looking to maximize your speed / money ratio you've gone to the right place. These things are so fast I am surprised they have not been litigated out of existance.
You would need a spec racer Ford or similar formula type car to keep up with one of those on the track. Are U going to track the bike?
About the 90 LX, is that going to be an AI car or CMC?
Inquiring minds want to know..
Meanwhile: WHOO HOO, only 11 days to Barber!

NO, I am not going to track it, my goal is to cruise. I bought the bike to ride through the parkway, but not to push. To be honest, the bike scares me to death. It, even now, accelerates like nothing I have ever driven/ridden. I don't think I will ever see triple digits. The mods where thrown in at purchase. After ridding it, I would have never modded it.
However, I am going to put braided lines on it, the brakes are a touch mushy for me.
As for the 90 LX, I am still up in the air with direction. I know it will be V8, FI, and with griggs or MM setup. It will probably be too modded for CMC, but Beyond that, I can't decide.

rode bikes for years(not on the track)-best thing in the world to develope defensive driving skills. If you dont ---welll. The worse danger on a bike is getting too relaxed. Be creful dont want to see ya in the ER.
Beatiful machine--probably got a good deal this time of year too!

I got a new toy too!
The cat looks very safe there.... It's a Sparco Ultra, their lightest seat that isn't Carbon Fiber. I can't wait to install it! It's going in the RX-7 as soon as Kirkey is done fabricating the cage. Can't wait to use it. I just got it today and it's great to sit in while playing Forza or watching TV. Wife isn't as ammused as I am about it being in the living room though...

RX-7 Track car - ~$1500
FIA approved Sparco racing seat - $265
FIA approved RCI Harnesses - $75
Overexcited dork waiting for the cage to be fabricated - priceless!
Kelly is still calling me crazy for having her take this picture, but its fun watching TV in this thing. I wanted to see how the harnesses would be on the seat. Wish I was going to Barber. I hope you all have a great time and please take lots of pictures!

now that is one of the funniest pictures any of us have ever posted. It would rank right there with Silver cutting the grass wearign a helmet, but we don't have that one. Shame on Mrs. Silver for not capturing it, I am sure there had to be a camera just laying around somewhere.
I will take plenty of pictures on Sunday, I am playing the role of club photo journalist again. Should be fun, and I have a few ideas I want to try out, so hopefully they turn out good.

Do you think I'm excited? I've already installed my Hawk Plus brake pads, removed the back seats and mounted my super duper heavy-duty video mount/trailer hitch. Scheduled a session with Charlie at Mazcare for Friday morning as I took a day off from work. The Tein Coilvoers should be in by then and I will be driving new stay flat parts for the first time at Barber. I just started getting comfortable with the suspension the way it was. Can't wait to get back to Road Atlanta to find out just how the coilovers work on a familiar track. If anyone tempts me, I just may want to run with Panoz Dec. 3rd. (hint, hint.... OD)
Heading over on Friday afternoon!
6 DAYS!

very true --and without that you will not be able to reap the benifits ---and your tires may not last for long on that track! Yall are going to have a FUN time. Unless the "crowd" decides to go I will opt out of Panoz as a driver. I am trying to save for sometime REALLY big.(yall willl never guess--but lets just say everyone that wants to be involved will be able too). I most diff will come to spectate .

I know what the Big thing is, check it out here: Badass Bus
Meanwhile the car is almost ready: New Motul Brake Fluid, New Performance Friction Z Rated Front Pads, New Windshield (Rockingham was a bit rough on the old one), everything checked for tightness. Need: oil change and plugs then I'll be good to go.
Psyched!

Well guys - I am finally excited about this event. Many people at Sebring this past weekend actually said that PBOC is a really good group to run with.
Some things I learned this weekend - 1. a pyrometer is the most powerful tool in your racing tool box!!! I used it and made some set up changes and was matching the GT3 Cup cars lap times!
2. I will only go with NASA at the Road Atlanta events since I have 100X more fun at Chin events than NASA. I also got over 7 hours of hot track time this past weekend!! (and Nabil, instructors only have 1 student and can get 4 hours of track time if they want when they are not instructing)

7 hours in one weekend is a lot of freakin track. I don't know if my brain can handle that. The 9 hour day at TGPR we did, I figure I was on track about half of it, at the end of that, I was a damn zombie. But it sounds fun, one day when i can afford to pay for all of my events again, I might try out a Chin Event.
For now, i am looking forward to taking pictures on Sunday this weekend.

TA2, can you call your contact and see if there is anything on the coilovers? I'm dieing here! I'm having a shortness of breath situation, my pulse has gone up and my palms are sweaty! I need my mod fix bad!
