Calling all RX8'S in South Carolina
Theirs a lot of autocross to be done here in south carolina but no 8's to race. If you would like to be in a SC club for race show or just to have some guys who understand why your in love with your car, and why your car has a first name. Then come and join the first South Carolina RX8 club.

What part of SC are you in Street? Everyone I've met on this forum from SC is from Beaufort. One guy I think from Anderson if I remember. I've seen plenty of 8's up here in Greenville, but havent heard anything from them on the forum. Anyway, I'd be happy too if you are able to set somethin up. Just wouldnt be able to drive 2 or 3 hours on a reg. basis.

I plan to race regularly at CSCC (Clemson's autocross club). The weather just needs to hold out. Every race so far has had rain and this Sat is no different. I am also planning on the BMW event next month. I havent seen any 8's racing and would love to see more out.

Thats where I plan on racing the most. Clemson puts on a decent race and its cheap. They renew schedule every semester. Mostly college guys but we have some really fast drivers who do well nationally. CSCC is NASA affiliated.
SCR-SCCA schedule is:
2-18 @ Orangeburg
3-19 @ BMW Greer
4-22 @ Florence
5-22 @ Summerville
6-10 @ Columbia
7-15 @ Columbia
8-19 @ Orangeburg
9-9 @ Florence
10-22 @ BMW Greer
The BMW event is great, but crowded. They use the entire back lot of the plant! Had close to 300 people last year from what I hear. Course was high 3rd gear for people though! I just moved here last June so I am still getting the schedules and locations down.

CCR region races. They mainly race here - From Charlotte, NC
Take I-77 South to exit 88. Take left off of exit. Take first right after Texaco station onto Deerfield Drive. Follow Deerfield Drive and stadium will be on left.
Never been to an SCCA event down here. The Clemson guys race in Atlanta as well. Lots of racing if you are looking. Be willing to meet up with some of you guys to go racing. I have a few local guys who race and we all caravan down.

All the info you could need for the BMW event and others they put on.
For anybody who wants to go to Clemson, this weekends race got changed from Sat to Sun due to weather.
WantedTwo, you just missed two novice schools to get people the basics of autocrossing. Your car will be classed very high with all those mods. NASA is a little more forgiving than SCCA, but either way you'll be racing against some fast machinery! I'd like to check your car out, I wanted to see a turbo'd 8.

Yeah going to the schools would have been nice and I'm not out there to win I'm there just to drive my 8, winning would be lovely, but not expected I'm a bit wild on the track as a few of the georgia memebers can tell you. The bmw one looks like it could be a go for me. The car is still not running the way I would like it to, hopefully the fixes that MM and tim came up with will help I should have all those in place by next week. If the car is still running the way it is now I probibly wont go, just for the fact I know my numbers are off.

Like Big Mike, I would need some formal 101 level stuff to get going in this.
